ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Financial Lines Underwriter is responsible for underwriting and pricing new and renewal risks following our underwriting guidelines, policies and procedures in line with granted underwriting authority. Key functions include but are not limited to:
Building a profitable book of business according to agreed objectives and priorities.Developing the Berkley value proposition for the designated Line of Business (LOB) in the Swiss market.Maintaining an active contact and exchange with all relevant internal and external business partners.Collaborating with colleagues across W.R. Berkley in pursuit of our broader corporate objectives.Acting as the primary point of contact within Switzerland for the designated LOB.Becoming a recognised expert in the designated LOB amongst intermediaries and customers in the Swiss market.Ensuring the underwriting and portfolio management practices are developed, agreed and maintained. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in insurance, business administration or successfully completed training as a businessman for insurance/finance or comparable qualification.At least five years of professional experience in the field of Financial Lines.Strong technical understanding as well as analytical skills and enjoyment of complex topics.Very good market knowledge and networking in the area of FL.Strong Customer (Broker) Focus & Team Work internal & external)FlexibilityStrong attention to detail and the ability to continuously deliver resultsProfound Insurance Legal and Regulatory Environment KnowledgeStrong Pricing, Product Development, Risk Analysis and Selection skillsExcellent Communication skills with proficiency in both German and English (writing and speaking) Connect With Us!
