Your Role
To provide analysis of the monthly internal management performance results, carry out monthly management reporting and assist with the preparation and production of regular forecasts and the annual Plan for the Australian and New Zealand Operations. This includes preparation and delivery of various reports to management and the business departments, assist with analysis of operating results to support business and management in understanding the results and assist with the coordination and preparation of production reforecasts and the annual Plan.

Your Responsibilities

Analyse and report on monthly Production and Acquisition Cost updates and coordinate various stakeholders' conversations in a timely basis, with appropriate commentary. Produce a monthly internal management reporting pack to support the business departments and senior management in understanding the key drivers of the results and insight into the lead indicators of the business results going forward. This includes preparation of the monthly Production Activity Report, Monthly Distribution and State Profitability Results for both the Australian and New Zealand businesses. Carry out all month-end premium and acquisition cost accruals and USGAAP reserving activities for the Combined business division for Australia and New Zealand. This includes monthly premium and commission accruals, preparation of the DAC schedule and Premium and Claims reports for submission to the Actuary and preparation of US GAAP reserving and DAC and VOBA amortisation journals. Coordinate quarterly SOX controls testing requirements and report on the outcomes.  Prepare monthly reconciliations of all assigned balance sheet accounts with appropriate supporting documentation. Assist in the coordination and preparation of the production, acquisition cost  and expenses Plan for the Australian and New Zealand businesses.  Assist in the coordination and preparation of regular production and acquisition cost forecasts for the Australian and New Zealand businesses. Prepare variance analysis, document key drivers and communicate to senior management and the business departments.  Maintain the TM1 System records in respect of production forecasts and develop TM1 management reports to meet the needs of the business and management as and when required. Develop appropriate TM1 System training requirements and coordinate regular training for users across Finance and the business departments.  Provide assistance with the development of other ad-hoc business reports to support senior management and the business in understanding the performance results and assist in the decision making.
 

Your Skills & Experience
 

Degree qualified in Accounting and/or Financial Management with full CPA/CA membership status.5 – 7 years post qualification commercial experience, with minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an FP&A environment.1- 2 years of Insurance Industry experience is desirable, but not essential. Experience with TM1 , PeopleSoft, Meridian, Genius, Cognos, Alteryx applications and demonstrated ability to have used a BI tools (such as Qlik or Tableau).Deadline driven, attention to detail, highly analytical, adapt a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business and ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks.Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to deal with both internal and external clients at all levels in the business.
