Position Overview:
The Fraud Data Analyst will play a critical role in safeguarding the organization by identifying, analyzing, and mitigating fraudulent activities. This position involves leveraging advanced data analytics, tools, and methodologies to detect patterns of fraud, investigate suspicious activities, and provide actionable insights that drive fraud prevention strategies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and adept at working with large datasets.
Key Responsibilities:
Fraud Detection & Analysis:
Monitor transactions and activities to identify potential fraudulent behavior.
Analyze large datasets to detect trends, patterns, and anomalies indicative of fraud.
Conduct root cause analyses of fraud incidents and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.
Risk Assessment & Mitigation:
Develop and refine models and algorithms to assess fraud risk.
Assist in implementing fraud prevention tools and strategies.
Collaborate with internal teams to assess vulnerabilities and mitigate fraud-related risks.
Data Management & Reporting:
Create and maintain dashboards and reports to track fraud trends and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders through clear, actionable insights.
Maintain and improve databases related to fraud investigations and prevention efforts.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with fraud prevention, compliance, and customer service teams to address and resolve fraud-related issues.
Provide support during audits and regulatory reviews related to fraud data and metrics.
Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to enhance fraud detection capabilities.
Process Improvement:
Continuously identify opportunities to improve fraud detection processes and tools.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in fraud prevention.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
Advanced degree is a plus.
Experience:
2–4 years of experience in fraud detection, data analysis, or a related field.
Hands-on experience with fraud monitoring systems and tools.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis tools.
Experience with data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Familiarity with machine learning or predictive analytics is a plus.
Other Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills for presenting data-driven insights.
Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of fraud prevention systems and techniques, including payment fraud, account takeover, and identity theft.
Experience in the financial services, e-commerce, or technology sectors.

The target compensation range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000/annually. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to: candidate’s qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience, as well as internal equity and market conditions.
