About the Role

Rapid7 is looking for a Senior Front End Web Engineer to join the Web Development & Operations team as it continues to grow and advance the organization's digital strategy and technologies. We need a team player with solid web development skills to ensure high quality delivery of experiences to both customers and prospects. The ideal candidate is someone who can contribute to a team tasked with delivering robust technical solutions, solving system and business problems and implementing world class digital experiences.

At Rapid7, the Digital Media Strategy team is at the point of transforming its strategies, channels and approaches to support a customer centric focus globally by elevating existing channels and testing new opportunities. The new strategy is focused on tactics and channels across the buyer journey by delivering a relevant and consistent brand message and experience across every touch point.  Elevating our position across adtech, martech, data analytics and customer insights we strive to mature and experiment in collaboration across marketing stakeholders.

About the Team

Within Rapid7's Marketing Department, the Web Development team plays a vital role in building and maintaining www.rapid7.com, our primary marketing website, critical digital touchpoint for our customers and prospects, serving as a key resource in their journey with Rapid7.

As part of our commitment to innovation and delivering exceptional digital experiences, Rapid7 is continuing to grow the Web Development team in our Prague office. This expansion is focused on rebuilding our flagship marketing website on a modernized marketing technology stack, a core business priority that will enable the execution of an ambitious and evolving digital strategy developed by our global marketing teams.

Front-End:JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Jenkins, React/NextJs, Tailwind CSS, Playwright/Jest/Browserstack, GraphQL, Storybook, GitHub and Contentstack CMS

Back-End: JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Jenkins, AWS, GraphQL, GitHub

In this role, you will:

Work on a projects from a front end perspective including technical requirements gathering, data modeling and deployment

Develop complex web UIs both independently and with support and review from our team’s Lead Web Engineer (Back end)

Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers

Work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively to meet our stakeholders’ delivery expectations.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and business needs; communicate technical solutions with non-technical stakeholders.

Collaborate effectively with design, QA and content/brand team members 

Maintain technical excellence in the execution and the delivery of implementations of varying scope

Independently estimate and manage assigned tasks

The skills you’ll bring include:

5-8 years of front end experience with HTML, CSS (Tailwind CSS) and JavaScript

Solid understanding of modern web development concepts

Capable of translating arbitrary design into responsive styles; familiar with standards and conventions

Can confidently implement UI behaviors with JavaScript via various methods, such as with vanilla JavaScript or React

Excited by technology, curious and eager to learn, with the ability to mentor more junior members of the team 

Experience working with CMS platforms

Experience using common front end tools such as webpack or gulp

Comfortable interacting with REST and GraphQL web services

Experience working with Git and Jenkins or similar version control and build platforms

Attention to detail, and analytical/problem-solving skills
