As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Technology Regulatory, Controls & Operational Risk Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceAdvance experience coding in React, Java 17 or higher, Spring Boot and SQL, 10 + years of experienceExtensive experience in designing and developing complex user interfaces using React.Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityMust have solid understanding in developing and deploying microservices using the Spring Boot framework.Must have solid understanding of Java design patterns and data structuresDemonstrated experience in architecting, implementing, and optimizing Kafka-based event-driven systems at scale.Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methodsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsHave experience in building and growing talents in the past would be a plusInteract with user experience designers, product owners and produce quick prototypes to seek feedbackProficient in utilizing a wide range of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and VPC, to build scalable and secure cloud solutions is a plus
