Job Description:

FIT Notification & Messaging Services Engineering is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to assist with platform development in Java, SQL and Angular. This role also analyzes existing systems and makes design recommendations to project teams for direction on implementation or takes accountability for implementation based on priorities.

Notification & Messaging Services is a dynamic group that handles development and engineering solutions across several technologies and delivers strategic solutions that scan across and are used by multiple business units. In this role you will develop services, frameworks, and sites to enable these solutions or provide monitor applications of these solutions for our customers.

Notifications & Messaging Services delivers a suite of capabilities to enable effective delivery and management of notification & messages to Retail & Institutional customers within Fidelity Investments.

The Purpose of Your Role

We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer with the passion to be an integral part of crafting and developing applications and make contributions throughout the Software Development Lifecycle covering defining and delivering new capabilities, improvements, maintenance, and providing support.

The role involves continuous collaboration with users, engagement with business partners and an iterative understanding of the platform to build well written requirements following Fidelity standard methodologies.

The role requires creation and maintenance of complex SQL queries, stored procedures, to facilitate device management, subscriptions & onboarding, to on-prem and cloud-based solutions.

You must demonstrate a propensity for detail and a willingness to learn the group’s product roadmap and take ownership for the overall product quality.

You will also be responsible for taking an active role in partnering with others to refine the product backlog in readiness to expedite development and delivery.

The Expertise You Have Experience in Java, Angular, jQuery and html Knowledge in SQL, PL/SQL complex queries, Data loader and data analysis Experience with testing tools like JUnit and understanding of data integrity testing Experience building and deploying applications using continuous integration pipelines and automated deployment tools, ideally Jenkins Core. Experience with Cloud technologies, specifically knowledge of AWS Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to understand complex customer needs and transactions Proven ability to work in a fast paced, agile team with a focus on continuous delivery 5+ years of experience working in technology or a related field Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field Experience using agile tools such as Jira and Confluence Basic understanding of user experience principles, experience working with UX designers a plus Basic knowledge or prior experience in the financial services domain a plus The Skills You Bring Able to understand the domain of any project you work on through your ability to learn and analyze information independently Possess critical thinking skills to build end-to-end solutions Collaborate with partners across business groups with unique business processes, data sets, and challenges finding the common ground needed to develop high quality solutions Demonstrated expertise with Data Design and Data Modeling Ability to deliver scalable, resilient, and secure technical solutions by applying industry standards and proven methods Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to different audiences Operate independently while maintaining focus on overall project objectives Ability to learn and experiment with new technologies and patterns Demonstrated problem solving skills with the ability to determine root cause and clearly communicate problem statements and solutions Proficient in Scrum methodology and practices Experience writing functional tests and ensuring appropriate/suitable test coverage Ability to build and cultivate relationships with key business partners and quickly establish trust to ensure effective delivery Ability to challenge assumptions from all parties to ensure the best product is delivered The Value You Deliver Through your unique perspectives and expertise, you will contribute to delivering critical high-volume & high-throughput solutions that are vital to our business partners, clients, and business operations.
