Senior Functional Analyst, SAP
What You'll Do Avalara is looking for 2 - 3 Senior Functional Analysts with SAP product expertise to join our Product teams. You will work remotely out of the US, reporting directly to a Senior Director of Enterprise solutions (#LI-Remote). You will not have direct reports or people-managerial responsibilities. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. What Your Responsibilities Will Be As a Senior Functional Analyst you will: Collaborate with partners across multiple teams to understand their needs. Document and analyze business processes to identify areas where SAP can increase value. Improve processes and recommend updates or new SAP features. Maintain Product Roadmap and related activities in JIRA. Configure SAP modules to meet requirements with focus on specific SAP modules SAP FICO (Finance & Controlling), SAP MM (Materials Management), SAP SD (Sales & Distribution). Master Data setup required for development, testing, and demos. Align our business processes with SAP best practices. Ensure integration and consistency between different modules. Work with SAP developers to define and validate enhancements when SAP standard functionality is insufficient. Develop test cases and perform functional testing to ensure configurations meet development requirements. Perform testing and resolve issues that arise. Train Support and Pre-Sales Engineers and creation of user manuals or process documentation for customers and partners. Perform demos customers and partners. Assist customers and partners in SAP implementations and upgrades. What You'll Need to be Successful You will have: SAP Expertise: 4+ years of experience as an SAP functional consultant or analyst. Knowledge of specific SAP modules and their functionality. Experience analyzing business processes and translate them into SAP configurations. Strong interpersonal skills to partner across several teams. Experience identifying and addressing operational inefficiencies. Experience with Product Management software (ie JIRA). Experience with Indirect Tax Software (ie Sovos, Avalara, Vertex). Understanding of industry-specific processes and requirements as they relate to indirect tax and SAP.
