Role/ Department:  

  

This is an opportunity for a qualified accounting candidate to join the largest department, within the largest fund administrator in Guernsey, thereby accessing a career path in the Private Equity space.  The role will require the successful candidate to assist with the preparation and review of fund operations across multi-products for a large PE client in a timely, efficient and accurate manner adhering to the highest standards. The role will also include final level review and oversight for certain outsourced client functions which will involve liaising with other Northern Trust offices to ensure high standards of service are maintained.

 

 The key responsibilities of the role include:  

  

Responsible for ensuring accurate investment valuations and investment cashflows in the client’s systems and perform periodic reconciliationsPrepare and review purchase price calculations and valuations of new investments for client approvalReview the preparation of accounts for co-investment vehicles and SPVs in complex structuresSupport and review audit files, liaising closely with the client and auditorsPreparation and review of statistical information for regulatory reporting requirementsReview invoice coding on the client’s bespoke systemOversee a daily cash management process and review cash reports, including calculations of investor distributions for client approvalWork with other teams within NT to ensure delivery of client deliverablesWork collectively with management to ensure first class delivery of professional and efficient service to the client, including support of new workstreamsEnsure all procedures are kept up to date and are adhered to on a daily basisThink outside the box to add value to the team and progress of direct reportsLook at ways to improve services and find resolutions to issuesGenerate process and system enhancement ideas and co-ordinate the introduction of these changes, once approved by the department CSDM with supporting documented procedures

 

   

Skills/ Qualifications:  

  

The successful candidate will benefit from having:   

 

 The ideal candidate will hold an accounting qualification (ACA or ACCA preferred) and have gained knowledge of regulatory issues, book-keeping and technical accounting such as UK GAAP or IFRSAbility to keep up to date with all changes in Law and compliance Fund accounting or administration experience of private equity secondary funds, credit funds or perpetual fundsAdvanced Excel Skills with knowledge on Investran would be an advantageConfidence in communicating directly with clients and stakeholdersExcellent oral and written communication skills are required. The role will require the ability to deal confidently and articulately with internal and external counterparties Analytical and problem solving skills are requiredLeadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staffAbility to set priorities and manage deadlines, escalating issues where necessaryGood team player, self-starter, flexible, with the ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
