We are searching for Senior Gas Accountant on behalf our client. This is a 1 yr. contract assignment. (W-2). The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and take ownership of various projects, adding value through critical thinking and inter-personal skills with knowledge of either the retail gas or power industry.
This is a lead role in special projects, including researching, analyzing and reporting on issues that affect the company, making recommendations for solutions, and following through to resolution.

Specific Responsibilities include:
Prepare month end journal entries and supporting documentation (revenues, cost of goods sold, receivables, prepaids, fixed assets, deposits, accrued interest, etc.) Prepare balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare month end close results file. Compile and analyze financial information for regulatory reporting Analyze costs by responsibility center and communicate monthly with business owners Prepares financial reports that are in compliance with GAAP, in a timely manner, to accurately reflect the financial status of the company Maintains a good understanding of, and applies, GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices and procedures. Assures accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls Prepares schedules and journal entries Provides guidance and direction to other team members
