Job Description:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

WVIM’s operations, programming including monitoring and evaluation, advocacy, communications, and fundraising align with best practices in GEDSI

Assist and facilitate for promotion of GEDSI-inclusive organizational practices through the GEDSI self-assessment and action plan.Support the contextualization of programming tools, models, and approaches related to the GEDSI and the safeguardingAssist in conducting field-level GEDSI assessments in WVIM program areasSupport to develop and update GEDSI Monitoring Checklist for Program and ProjectMonitor GEDSI mainstreaming in programs and projects regularlySupport the APs and grant programs / projects to be able to function the Feedback and Complaints Mechanism effectively in all program areas, in line with the Programme Accountability Framework (PAF)Assist APs and grant programs / projects to be able to submit all the safeguarding incidents reports, and respond to them in a timely mannerAssist in the preparation of progress reports on GEDSI and Safeguarding policy implementation

World Vision staff, affiliates, and local partners have the competencies they need to implement safeguarding policy and to ensure no harm of vulnerable population especially children, women and people with disabilities (PWD)

Facilitate training for all WVIM staff on the GEDSI Policy with guidance by the advisorWork with the advisor to be able to conduct GEDSI and the Safeguarding refresher training at least once every two years for all staff, partners’ staff, child monitors, and volunteersAssist the advisor for building capacity of staff and partners to ensure inclusion of people with disabilities in meaningful program participationFacilitate training for staff, affiliates and partners on the Safeguarding policy, and how to recognize, report, and respond to safeguarding incidentsCollaborate with partners organizations and support them to develop or update their own Safeguarding Policies

World Vision is recognized as a preferred partner for GEDSI in country (Build strategic partnerships and networks)

Represent WVIM in external meetings related to GEDSI and Safeguarding, such as relevant cluster meetings and contribute to the work of the coordination groups with the advisor or OIC of the advisor.Assist in identifying and building partnerships with local organizations, especially women’s organizations and organizations led by people with disabilitiesFacilitate capacity building of local partners

WVIM has improved positioning with donors for grant acquisition because of quality designs and proposals

Review all project designs and proposals with a GEDSI and Safeguarding lensAssist the GEDSI and Safeguarding related project designs to acquiring new funding, in collaboration with the Grants Acquisition Development team

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Protection related fields in Conflict/ Humanitarian, DevelopmentBachelor’s degree in gender studies, social work/ development studies/ social development, or relevant fieldExperience in implementation of GEDSI and related mainstreaming activities across various sectorsUnderstanding the disability inclusion in programmingExperience participating in GEDSI analysis (specifically gender and disability analysis) to inform design and to support GEDSI-Responsive monitoring and evaluationKnowledge of current approaches to gender equality, disability inclusion and broader inclusion programming in both complex humanitarian disaster and transformational development environmentsExperience participating Organizational GEDSI Self-Assessments or GEDSI AuditsThis position is based in the National Office in Yangon. Involves frequent visits to target program areas in various townships.
