Job Summary Adjusts major and complex losses, but may also adjust standard losses. Trains other claims employees in the area of expertise. Assists with reinspections and file reviews. Works closely with the District Managers and agency force. May assist Team Leaders and Management personnel with technical support for adjusting claims. May review authority requests and prepare submissions for approval to the next higher level. Will also be required to maintain an active adjusters license in states where required.Essential Job Functions May adjust large or complex losses in their entirety. Responsible for completing all procedural requirements as outlined in the BCO and CR Procedural Manuals. Responsible for completing proper investigations on complex losses. May assist with catastrophe claims throughout the operating territory. Maintains control of assigned Suits vs. Exchange and other litigated specialty files. Monitors and controls legal expenses. Attends litigation conferences, arbitration hearings and trials as necessary. Conducts reinspections and field-rides with Claims Representatives. May be responsible for training of Claims personnel. Reviews Claims Office operations for compliance with company procedures and quality assurance evaluations. Reports findings, making specific comments and recommendations on any adverse trends or procedural deviations. Recommends limits of claims monetary authority for supervisory and field personnel within the limit of prescribed policy. Trains and counsels supervisory personnel in area of expertise, participates as an instructor in claims training programs and agent's career schools; and monitors quality and adequacy of training programs administered by claims offices. Assists Team Leaders and Supervisors in evaluating the technical abilities of specialty function Claims Representatives and Claims Associates. Advises and counsels claims offices in establishing and maintaining good business relations with vendors, and reviews the administration of repair programs. Assists with the handling of authority requests during the absence of the Supervisor or Specialty Manager. May travel throughout the operating territory to assist with catastrophe losses. Investigates, confirms coverage, determines liability, establishes damages, reports status and negotiates the settlement of assigned cases (has authority to make payment of assigned claims within prescribed limits). Adjusts all types of claims. Inspects damaged property and vehicles, and determines claims related damage. Estimates the cost of repair or replacement of damaged or stolen property and vehicles. Determines and reports on subrogation potential. Initiates the sale of salvage vehicles, personal property, and miscellaneous salvage items. Reports theft, fraud, and arson losses as required to state and industry agencies. Performs most duties on an individual basis, and work has a direct bearing on Management results. Represents the Company from a public relations standpoint and must conduct oneself as a member of Management at all times. Personal contacts are a major part of activity and include policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, repair facilities, contractors, police and fire departments, state and county fraud and arson personnel, special investigators, attorneys, expert witnesses, members of the medical profession and all other persons incident to the investigation and processing of claims. *Employees assigned to the Catastrophe team will be required to travel away from their residence for a specified period of time, usually consisting of 23 days Promotes safety at all times and complies with safety/ergonomic standards as outlined in relevant company published manuals. Performs other duties as assigned.Physical Actions

Physical Environment Required job duties are normally performed in a climate- controlled office environment, but with exposure to some or all of the following environments when in the field: Uncontrolled outside environmental conditions Excessive Noise Levels Chemicals Chemical/Biological Conditions Moving Mechanical Parts Areas considered dangerous Conditions, which could affect the respiratory system or skin such as: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, oils, smoke, soot, or poor ventilation.Education Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Completion of, or actively pursuing a major insurance designation, or actively pursuing insurance related courses.Experience Requirements

4+ years of prior large loss claims experience preferred. Successful demonstration/completion of the Claims Sr General Adjuster prerequisites, proficiencies, and exams, as required based on unit of assignment.

Special Skill Requirement Communication Skills Personal Computer Literate Valid driver's license Bondable
