**Description** SAIC is seeking a **Senior Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst/Software Developer** to join an exciting program in **Springfield, VA.** **JOB DESCRIPTION** : Candidate will support our team as a database and software developer. The candidate’s duties will be assisting the primary developer with maintaining, updating, and identifying new sources of information in support of a small community of GIS users. **JOB DUTIES** : + Assisting the primary developer with maintaining, updating, and identifying new sources of information to a community of GIS users. + Geo-referencing images; extracting information from documents for database population. + Downloading data from various networks for ingestion into the new/existing databases. + Assisting individuals using GIS software. + Maintaining historical information on features of interest. + Providing one-on-one training and demonstrations. + Coordinating data sharing with other sites. + Reviewing/updating documentation. + Performing database configuration management functions and developing map products for the customer. + Assisting other sites with database and product development. + Developing custom functionality to ingest new datasets or provide to the GIS user. + Upgrading existing custom functionality to meet software vendor requirements. **Qualifications** **REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE** : + Bachelor’s degree in a technical/STEM field and five (5) years’ experience. Additional years’ experience accepted in lieu of a degree. + Candidate shall have at least 2 years’ experience producing GIS products using ArcGIS Desktop software. + ArcGIS Pro experience using python to create custom geoprocessing tools. + Visual Studio experience for maintaining/upgrading C# tools embedded in ArcGIS Pro. + US Citizen with an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI). Ability to obtain a TS/SCI w/CI poly. **DESIRED EXPERIENCE** : + Bachelor’s Degree in GIS. + Experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap. + An active Top Secret clearance with access to SCI and CI Polygraph. + Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) technical certifications desired.
