Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Geomophologist to join the Mobility Business in Canada. The ideal candidate will have experience in consulting, research, or government agencies as well as a focus on fluvial processes, slope stability, and coastal geomorphology. Responsibilities include conducting field investigations, analyzing data, preparing reports, and potentially managing projects. 

This role is a part of the Mobility Global Business Area (GBA). We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change, urbanization and digitization trends are requiring today’s mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the world’s growing population. We design connected, sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies, and optimize the mobility of people and goods.

Role accountabilities:

Role accountabilities for this position include conducting field surveys and collecting data to assess geomorphic processes and hazards. In this position, you will analyze field data and use GIS to map and model geomorphic features. You will also prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing findings and providing recommendations. Additionally, you may oversee smaller projects and collaborate with other professionals as part of project management responsibilities. Problem-solving will involve identifying geomorphic issues and recommending effective solutions. Furthermore, you will build and manage a team of geomorphologists, mentor junior staff, and deliver high-quality geomorphology projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Master's/Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in geomorphology, environmental science, water resources or a related field Experience: 10 years of experience in field work, data analysis, and report writing Technical Skills: Proficiency in GIS software, data analysis tools, and field equipment Knowledge: Strong understanding of fluvial geomorphology, slope stability, coastal processes, and related fields Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $134,000. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
