Senior Geophysicist - In Situ

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Geophysicist to join our fast-paced In Situ producing assets geoscience team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the exploration, development, and optimization of our In Situ producing assets. This position requires a deep understanding of geophysical methods and technologies, as well as a proven track record in the oil and gas industry.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics, Geology, or a related field. Professional member of APEGA (P. Geo) 7 to 15 years of oil and gas industry experience; with a minimum of 5 years of experience in an In Situ producing asset team settingProficiency in geophysical software and tools (e.g. Petrel, Rok Doc etc.) Experience with time-lapse (4D) seismic analysis and interpretationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to scale work according to impact and complexity Good understanding of the rock physics related to fluid, temperature and pressure changes typically associated with In Situ productionExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; focus on collaboration and integrationAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentDemonstrated leadership and project management abilities
 

Responsibilities:

Lead geophysical data acquisition, processing, and interpretation to support In Situ project development, including: remote sensing data, 2D, 3D and 4D seismic dataDesign and implement geophysical surveys to identify and evaluate subsurface resources and support production optimizationCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geophysical data with geological, petrophysical, and engineering data in support of appraisal, delineation and production monitoring activitiesCo-develop and maintain subsurface models to support reservoir characterization, simulation and production forecastingEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirementsContribute to geoscience development through formal and informal mentoring and coaching Influence team business planning through integration of geoscience and non-geoscience information and collaboration within cross-functional subsurface team

Location and other Key Details: 

You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
