The expected salary range for this position is $150,000 - $225,000 depending on experience

Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional Talent
Tutor Perini Civil East is seeking a highly qualified Senior Geotechnical Engineer with 10–15 years of experience in underground support of excavation (SOE) design to join our in-house engineering design group. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to the design, analysis, and review of complex excavation support systems for major underground and urban infrastructure projects.
Job Description:
Lead the design and analysis of excavation support systems, including slurry walls, secant pile walls, sheeting, soldier pile and lagging, underpinning, and bracing systems.
Review geotechnical site investigation reports and interpret soil and rock conditions.
Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents related to SOE and foundation systems.
Prepare temporary SOE design submittals with PE stamp.
Collaborate with in-house structural engineers, field operations teams, estimators, and external subconsultants.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and project-specific requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in civil engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in New York or New Jersey (required).
10–15 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering with an emphasis on underground excavation and SOE design.
Strong knowledge of geotechnical design methods, soil–structure interaction, and construction practices in urban environments.
Proficiency with geotechnical and structural analysis software (e.g., PLAXIS, LPILE, Shoring Suite, or similar).
Excellent communication, technical writing, and coordination skills.
Experience with projects adjacent to subways, railroads, or other sensitive structures.
Familiarity with MTA, NYCDOT, and NJDOT standards and procedures.
