Step into Your New Role

Kleinfelder is seeking to fill a position of a Senior Geotechnical Engineer. 

 

The ideal candidate will:

Direct junior staff to perform field activities including geotechnical drilling, laboratory testing and construction observations with subcontractors. Coordinate geotechnical tasks and manage medium to large size geotechnical projects.Review construction submittals and daily field reports.Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and prepare geotechnical reports for the design and construction for a variety of private commercial and public projects.Review work of and mentor junior staff.Interrelate with external clients and subcontractors.Develop and grow business with current and new clients.

 

We are looking for someone with the ability to provide quality technical support and project management on mainly commercial, municipal, energy and water projects.

 

Strong analytical skills are required in areas including:

Geotechnical engineering evaluations including:Engineering for soft soil conditions,Shallow and deep foundation design,Ground improvement techniques,Earthquake engineering,Experience with drilling oversight and soil and rock classification,Experience with construction oversightSubgrade observations, observation of backfill and compaction, deep foundation installation, etc.

 

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in civil (geotechnical) or geological engineering; master’s degree preferredMinimum of 12 years of consulting experience in the geotechnical field.PE or ability to obtain within 6 months.Experience with proposal writing, scope, budgeting, and schedulingExperience with project managementExperience executing geotechnical field investigationsExperience with local geologic conditions as well as national geology and geologic hazardsProficiency in software including Slope/W or SLIDE, SHAFT, LPILE, APILE, Settle3Experience with geotechnical engineering analyses without the use of geotechnical software.Experience with and strong abilities with technical writing of geotechnical investigation reportsWorking well in a team environmentValid driver’s license.

 

Knowledge of the following software, as a minimum:

Microsoft OfficegINTSlide/SlopeWL-Pile, GroupGRL WEAPSettle 3D
