Senior GIS/Remote Sensing Specialist

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Senior GIS/Remote Sensing Specialist. Though our preference is to have someone in our corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas, we are open to considering people in any of our locations. As a Senior GIS/Remote Sensing Specialist, you will engage in GIS and Remote Sensing projects for state and federal clients, innovating new technologies, managing field data collection (including drones and scanning), and processing geospatial data. You will develop GIS processes for imagery analysis, design strategies for geographic data visualization, and provide solutions for GIS, BIM integration, remote sensing, and database management initiatives.​​

Engage in GIS/Business Technology and Remote Sensing projects for clients across the US.Innovate and develop new technologies, manage and test field work/remote sensing data collection, drones, and terrestrial scanning. Post-process data and manage the Authoritative GIS Data Plan to ensure data quality, accessibility, and effective utilization.Develop/document GIS processes for aerial or satellite imagery to create products like land cover maps, building footprints, and impervious cover for authoritative data quality and access.Develop analytical GIS processes for aerial survey data from topographic and bathymetric data, as well as thermal, hyperspectral, and multispectral imagery sensor systems.Serve as a primary solutions provider for corporate GIS, BIM Integration, Remote Sensing, cloud web map/app design, and database management initiatives.Support corporate initiatives in identifying, evaluating, and implementing future technologies aligned with AEC practices, including GIS, water, stormwater, planning, and construction services.Assist others in identifying the right GIS analysis tools to solve problems for both internal and external clients.Act as an ambassador of Corporate GIS governance for both internal and external system infrastructure and architecture, providing innovative solutions to solve complex daily challenges.Design or implement new strategies for the collection, analysis, or display of geographic data.

This position will push your knowledge of GIS/Remote Sensing problem-solving skills past your current limits and beyond. We are looking for the right person with a strong knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS platform and Lidar and Raster analytical remote sensing software. Qualifications

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing field, specifically using Esri technology / web app design, performing spatial analysis, Python scripting, automation, deep learning and machine learning object detection/extraction, cloud environment spatial database development, as well as other industry AEC software and extensionsRequired experience in Lidar processing and elevation model creation/manipulation, Survey Grade GPS, and post-processing large datasetsStrong understanding of aerial acquisition, GPS ground survey, and bathymetric calibration.Understanding database design working with Esri File Geodatabases, Database Management Systems (DBMS), processing of. LAS and .lgs files, and integrating 3D point cloud data into BIM software (e.g. Revit)

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field.Preferred experience with mainstream commercial software (Esri ArcGIS PRO, GeoCue LP360, Leica Cyclone REGISTER PLUS and 3DR, Trimble Business Center, Pix4D, ESRI Site Scan, etc.).Knowledge of working in the cloud environment with Esri ArcGIS platform, Amazon AWS, and Azure.GISP or Certified Photogrammetrist Certification
