**Job Title: Senior Global Manufacturing Engineering Manager.**
**Salary: £90,096 per annum + dependent upon experience**
**Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire**

**About IPSD**
Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. **Job Summary**
You will be responsible for leading and developing all aspects of a Global Manufacturing Engineering & Technology strategy for the Responsible for the 6 global facilities, incorporating Machining, Assembly, Test, Paint and Final finish for IPSD medium engines…in support of, and aligned to, the IPSD full power Strategy.
Responsible for maximising the value Caterpillar IPSD obtains from the Global Manufacturing Engineering & Technology (GMET) portfolio of programmes and projects, providing leadership, and governance to the projects that GMET implements.
Accordingly, this role acts as a agent between the global manufacturing teams, the global operations teams, the purchasing team and the product group.
The role will take responsibility for leading the 5 key workstreams, New product Introduction, Manufacturing Systems, New Technology Development, Strategic Management & Value Add Manufacturing as well as People development.
As this is a global role there is a requirement for overseas travel - circa 25%.
**What You Will Do: Format**
+ Oversee the development, support and continued improvement of manufacturing processes across major functions or multiple facilities
+ Manage the introduction of new products across our Global facilities, working closely with the Global Footprint team to select the ideal manufacturing location.
+ Working directly with operations managers to provide manufacturing expertise in the planning, documentation, implementation, support and maintenance of manufacturing processes, procedures, machinery and tooling to improve efficiency, cost effectiveness, quality and safety
+ Support the development of our Manufacturing processes and systems to ensure Global alignment of processes and equipment
+ Drive process changes leveraging research and process performance data to identify and implement changes that improve yield, runtime, quality, safety and cost-effectiveness.

+ Compares and contrasts alternative approaches and tools for capacity planning.
+ Develops estimates and costs for incremental capacity requirements.
+ Translates demand forecasts into production and capacity requirements.
