The Senior Grants Accountant role is responsible for the financial management of externally sponsored programs. The responsibilities of this role include performing all Senior level billing transactions required including, but not limited to, submission to funders, preparation of budgets vs. actuals, monitoring payments and collections for their contracts, & working directly with the audit team during their contract audits.
Responsibilities
+ Preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual reports to funder. This includes invoices, financials statements, and other supporting documentation related to the reports that are requested.
+ Compiles all information required to support the preparation and submission of monthly invoices for each contract.
+ Manage spending of various grant awards to ensure that all grant expenditures are reasonable, allocable and allowable according to all federal, state and local regulations.
+ Assist with the grants closeout process by identifying potential grants for close-out and analyzing General Ledger balances. Prepares fiscal and contract year-end financial reports for all contract locations.
+ Prepares/reviews reports to help manage unbilled charges.
+ Identify opportunities to automate and standardize processes and effectively challenge how data is reported through analysis and explanation of business driver’s.
+ Improve reporting proficiency and seek ways to reduce cycle time.
+ Assist with funder and annual audits for grants assigned
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s (BA or BS) in Finance or related field.
+ Software Skills · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel – pivots, VLOOKUP’s, what if analysis, formulas etc
+ 5 or more years of accounting or billing, financial reporting, and financial analysis experience.
Compensation: 68k to 70k
