Department Overview
TD Securities & Treasury Balance Sheet Management (TBSM) Operational Risk Management (TDSTORM) is a second line of defence function providing operational risk management oversight and challenge to TD Securities businesses, TBSM and, their support functions.
TDSTORM's mandate is to independently guide and challenge the first lines' implementation of, and ongoing compliance with, the TDBG ORM Framework. The team is also responsible for providing a broad range of risk management counsel, risk analyses, reporting and support to business partners and senior management on a wide range of risk-related matters across a broad range of risk types.
TDSTORM works in close partnership with the TD Securities businesses & TBSM to understand their strategy and support their growth, while at the same time ensuring that the appropriate risk and control framework is in place to adhere to and respect risk appetite.
Job Description
This role oversees the second line management, reporting, consultation, and challenge of the Control Testing program across the TDS and TBSM portfolio. The role partners with the businesses across the portfolio in identifying, reporting, and mitigating operational risk issues and, be a subject matter expert on the program. This role requires frequent interaction with stakeholders from the 1st and 2nd lines of defence to drive change and ensure sufficient oversight. The role will also, support the end-to-end program execution oversight for one or more functions or businesses within the TDS portfolio.Other Accountabilities
Identify opportunities to streamline, automate and improve processes to gain efficiencies, improve reporting and, increase the value gained through the team's execution of ORM Programs for our business partners.Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key segment and corporate partners.Job Requirements
Prior experience in wholesale banking and/or working with operational risk and control concepts.Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders of all levels.Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team.Ability to thrive in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment.Creative thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to see the "big picture", identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions that align with both enterprise programs and segment strategies.Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPointWho We Are:
