Overview

The Senior Group Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and closing group business to positively impact hotel revenues for the Elevation Hotel & Spa in Crested Butte, Colorado.  Candidate must be based in/near the Denver Metro Area, have the ability to work independently and travel to the hotel as needed.

Responsibilities Meet or exceed revenue targets & sales call goals as assigned by Director of SalesActively solicit group business & respond to group inquiries in a timely mannerUse the property’s computerized sales management system to manage the hotel’s business, including (but not limited to) entering business, building accounts & contacts and blocking spaceDevelop and maintain relationships with key accounts to increase account penetration and produce return businessNetwork with potential clients through active participation in community and professional associations and eventsAttend and represent hotel at industry trade shows. Additional travel as needed.Be familiar with all Highgate Hotel sales policies and selling techniques with an emphasis on maximizing occupancy and Average Daily Rate (ADR)Use full working knowledge of hotel’s operations to prepare proposalsConduct professional, thorough site inspections of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the propertyAssemble sales contracts and facilitate contract executionReview meeting planner evaluations with the Director of Sales to ensure that issues receive follow-upEvaluate trends and assist in implementing special promotions within assigned markets Assist in the preparation of required reportsAttend all hotel required meetings and trainingsOperate within established sales expense budget Qualifications 5+ Years Group Sales experience in a hotel or resort, preferably full servicePrevious experience in hotel/banquet/food & beverage operations helpfulStrong understanding of negotiation and interpretation of contractsKnowledge of Amadeus Sales & Event Management/Delphi and Opera preferredAbility to travel periodically to hotel to develop relationships and operations knowledgeHigh School diploma or equivalent required. College course work in related field helpful.Must be skilled in Windows & Microsoft OfficeMust be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with guests and other employees in a friendly, courteous and service oriented mannerMust be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlinesMaintain high standards of personal appearance and groomingMust be able to maintain confidentiality of informationPerform other duties as requested by management
