Job Description
Take the lead in designing, developing, testing, and overseeing the production of cutting-edge embedded hardware. Analyze requirements, research and identify solutions, and develop the design. Provide input to architecture, design tradeoffs (cost/performance/thermal), and participate in design reviews.
Fully Remote with Occasional Travel to Ottawa
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and perform schematic reviews, including Digital (CPU/FPGA/volatile and non-volatile memory) and RF.Perform layout review and provide feedback on overall system manufacturability.Contribute to part selection market surveys, particularly for CPUs and networking devices/Ethernet switches.Review parts selected, conducting EOL analysis, and evaluating cost versus performance.Collaborate with FPGA and Software teams to optimize performance and minimize cost.Facilitate the transition of the design to a high-volume contract manufacturer.Work with a contract manufacturer to refine the design for manufacturing considerations.Perform additional tasks and duties as applicable to the role as assigned.Essential Skills10+ years of hardware engineering experience with competency in high-speed design principles.Experience in Satellite Communication and/or wireless communications.Proficiency in full-life cycle hardware design, moving products from concept through design, contract manufacturing, and shipping to the customer.Experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for/to Cost (DTC/DFC).Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
