5-D Systems, a KRATOS Company, is a growing defense contractor headquartered in Round Rock, TX with over twenty years’ experience providing systems and software engineering for Unmanned Aircraft Systems and Systems Engineering Technical Support to Government Program Offices. 5-D Systems, a KRATOS Company, is seeking a highly motivated candidate in support of our customer located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama, who will serve as a Senior Hardware Systems Engineer supporting the Hardware Product Office Manager within Integrated Fires Mission Command (PM IFMC) Project Office in performing system engineering assessments driving AMDPCS to IBCS convergence plans and solutions supporting Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD). This role involves plans / solutions in the domains of design, integration and maintenance to establish an effective AMDPCS to IBCS system convergence that enhances IAMD battlefield management, situational awareness, and decision-making capabilities. Responsibilities include providing technical expertise for research, development, integration, and acquisition efforts. The candidate must stay current on Command and Control technologies, identify system design alternatives, and coordinate development and implementation for AMDPCS capabilities convergence within Integrated Battle Command System.The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of Command and Control systems, focusing on hardware and software integration in various form factors, and be adept in systems engineering within an agile development environment. Experience in systems development for Command and Control systems is necessary. Specialty engineering knowledge in areas like cybersecurity, radars (e.g., Sentinel A3/A4, Patriot), Army Spectrum Management Office/certification, and/or PEO Command, Control, and Communications-Network (PEO C3N) is desirable. The candidate must understand Technical Data Package (TDP) documentation and be able to update it as engineering solutions are finalized and Engineering Change Proposals are initiated.The role includes working with government and prime contractor teams to assess component integration approaches, monitor progress, and identify improvements. Strong communication and people skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to manage various concurrent tasks in a team environment are essential. The candidate should research data, analyze information, synthesize options, and make sound recommendations.Key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:• Leading the design, development, and implementation of C2 systems tailored to Army requirements• Collaborating with cross-functional teams for hardware and software integration• Supporting testing and evaluation to ensure reliability, performance, and cybersecurity• Develops and maintains technical documentation, including system specifications and design documents.• Ensures systems adhere to military standards, regulations, and best practice• Identifying opportunities for system enhancements and implement innovative solutions
Required Experience:
• US Citizen• Secret security clearance • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline• Experience in product development and integration/deployment of Command and Control systems• Ability to thrive in an agile development environment.• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint• Relevant certifications (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, CISSP) are advantageous.
