Overview
EWINGS is seeking a Senior Health Insurance Payer Contract Modeling & Benchmark Analyst to support an initiative focused on transitioning payer contracts with facilities in Maryland away from a longstanding state-regulated pricing model to a new, value-based reimbursement framework aligned with the AHEAD model.
The consultant will lead the design and execution of hospital reimbursement modeling using DRG, APC, and per diem methodologies. The goal is to support the development of sustainable, equitable hospital contracts that align with evolving state policy and the plan's strategic priorities.
In this engagement, EWINGS is leading the strategy, modeling, and contracting support to navigate the transition .
Responsibilities
+ Analyze claims and reimbursement data to develop pricing benchmarks aligned with evolving reimbursement methodologies (e.g., DRG, APC, per diem) under the AHEAD model and Maryland's transition away from the TCOC framework.
+ Build strategic financial models to simulate contract scenarios under varying payment structures.
+ Collaborate with contracting teams to align modeling outputs with negotiation strategy.
+ Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities and support scenario-based decision-making.
+ Ensure models incorporate historical performance, policy context, and risk adjustment logic.
+ Provide clear summaries and presentation-ready deliverables for internal and partner review.
Qualifications
+ 7+ years of experience in healthcare contract modeling or financial analytics.
+ Proven experience supporting complex payer-provider contract transitions.
+ Proficiency with modeling and financial scenario analysis.
+ Familiarity with DRG, APC, bundled payment, and value-based reimbursement methodologies.
+ Excellent communication skills and ability to manage ambiguity.
