ABOUT THE POSITION

Senior Highway Engineer | Hybrid

 

VHB’s growing Providence, RI office is seeking an experienced Senior Highway Engineer to join our Transportation team. Duties include leading the design, development, and execution of complex highway and transportation engineering projects.

 

Responsibilities

Conceptual design and analysisCoordinate with project stakeholdersProvide technical guidance to junior level engineersDesign of highways and roads including development of geometric layout, grading and drainage, working with utilities, signing, striping and environmental permittingPrepare and/or review design criteria, calculations, drawings, quantity estimates and specificationsDevelopment of 3D modelingTraffic Control and Constructability development and reviewTypical section development and pavement design

Skills and Attributes

Ability to handle multiple concurrent projectsStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsProficient in AutoCAD and/or Civil3DProject design, procurement, and construction oversight

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering, MS a plus5-8 years of transportation engineering experience required8-11 years of transportation engineering experience preferredRI PE expected or ability to obtain within 6 months
