Primary Responsibilities
HDR is currently in search for a Senior Transportation Hydraulics Engineer to work as a lead in our Transportation Business Group. This individual will be expected to provide leadership support in project delivery and business development. Primary duties will include assisting the Transportation Hydraulics Lead in the development of strategic planning, providing oversight of technical project delivery with a focus on profitability, overseeing quality control, and assisting with staff development and morale. The Transportation Business Group is active in the aviation, transit, freight rail, highway and local roads, and federal market sectors.
They will participate in recruitment and will train, develop, and manage personnel. They will promote HDR through active engagement in professional organizations to increase industry visibility throughout the region. They will also be expected to coordinate with area client managers and marketing staff to identify projects and contract opportunities with existing and new clients and may directly coordinate with national business class leaders to leverage the full resources of HDR to expand service offerings and grow market share.
It is also expected that this individual will provide development of stormwater management plans and designs for other infrastructure projects in the area (including water and wastewater infrastructure projects). This will include conducting analyses to develop design options, designing recommended Best Management Practices (BMP), and preparing service deliverable documents. They may also work with others on drainage review assignments as well.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Transportation, or Structural Engineering, or a related fieldMS in Civil Engineering or related discipline a plus.PE required10 years of working experience related to hydraulics engineering, water resource engineering, and permitting for transportation projects.Successful project leadership experience is requiredStrong leadership, planning, mentoring skills and staff management experience is requiredProject experience and existing relationships with DOT and municipal clients is a mustMust have technical proficiency preparing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and reports, scour investigations, erosion and sediment control plans and reports, drainage and stormwater management design, waterway and NPDES permitting, quantity cost estimates, and specificationsDesign-Build project experience a plusExperience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, and OpenRoads Designer focused on storm water design and analysis preferred.HEC-RAS and/or SRH-2D river modeling experience is preferredArcGIS Pro and HEC-HMS experience is preferredMust have excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to support marketing efforts.About HDR

Typical starting pay range for this position:
•California will be $116,645.00 - $166,635.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.•Colorado will be $101,430.00 - $159,390.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.•Washington will be $96,358.00 - $166,635.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location..At HDR, the health and safety of our employees is of the upmost importance.
