Senior Human Resources Generalist

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior HR Generalist to join our team at our Columbus, Ohio location. The Senior HR Generalist is a fully on-site role in Columbus, OH. Remote work is not available. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

In this role, you’ll work closely with team members at every level of the business to support a variety of HR functions like employee relations, performance, benefits, compliance, and leave administration. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as a trusted advisor for managers and team members on a variety of company and HR policies and procedures.

Handle complex employee relations issues, conducting investigations, recommending resolutions, and conducting terminations/counseling if necessary.

Maintain employment records, including personal identification, training, grievances, performance evaluations and classifications in Workday, Google Spreadsheets, and other systems.

Compile and analyze reports pertaining to a variety of personnel activities, including retention, absenteeism, training, etc.

Support recruiting and staffing, and ensure a seamless onboarding experience for new team members.

Provide assistance in administering employee benefit programs.

Work with Legal and/or outside counsel to coordinate work sponsorship applications.

Process leave administration, requests for accommodation, and case management for FMLA, Military Leave, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, etc. 

Aid in continuous improvement efforts within HR and HR Tech. 

Qualifications

5+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources; preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required.

SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.

Highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.

High level of proficiency in Google or Excel Spreadsheets, and Workday or similar HRIS systems required.

Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, etc.

Ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

High emotional intelligence with strong problem-solving capabilities.
