The Business
Working strategically with the business, this HR Generalist position plays an essential role in partnering with business leaders to support the business strategy and growth through the successful delivery of the HR agenda.
The Role
The role will partner with the Health Wealth & Career (HWC) (team of around 225 people) and Corporate leaders in the Netherlands, serve as trusted business partner to implement best practises and manage initiatives to support business growth. This role will also serve as HR Country Lead.
This role will involve working closely with the HR Centres of Expertise (COEs), Talent Advisors and HR Services to manage employee relations, HR operations, organisational effectiveness, performance management, talent development and total rewards whilst ensuring seamless delivery to the client.
Principal Accountabilities
To put the interests of clients and the integrity of the market at the heart of the way you do business. Serve as a trusted business partner to business leaders and managers working to advise on and promote initiatives to support business growth whilst also taking a balanced approach to managing risk. Role model for the delivery of HR services through the HR operating model.
Key activities
Organizational Structure: Guide organizational design, ensure smooth transitions, and improve HR policies. Employee Relations: Manage employee relations proactively, ensure legal compliance, address performance issues, and lead disciplinary and exit processes. Case Management: Handle complex cases like performance management, redundancy, and long-term sickness while ensuring compliance and effective outcomes. Organizational Effectiveness: Implement HR policies and manage changes in structure to align with business needs and legal requirements. Compensation & Transactions: Oversee salary reviews, promotions, and HR transactions to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Global Mobility: Manage employee transfers, secondments, and immigration cases in collaboration with relevant teams. Inclusion & Work/Life Balance: Promote diversity, inclusion, and flexible work arrangements. Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain productive relationships with Works Councils and manage consultations on key projects. Performance & Talent Development: Champion performance reviews, identify high-potential employees, and coordinate training initiatives. Total Rewards: Oversee salary, bonus, and benefit changes, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with governance standards. Financial Management: Use HR data to support business performance and cost management during restructuring or savings initiatives.The Requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English and the ability to interact with colleagues at all levels. Bachelor’s degree in HR or related area would be an advantage. A proven track record as a business partner providing a commercially focused, pragmatic and added value. HR partnering service to senior management, preferably within a professional services environment that has undergone change. Prior experience of working as a HR Business Partner within a professional or financial services organisation would be an advantage. Strong evidence of partnering with senior business leaders on employee relation issues and effective stakeholder management and communications skills both in writing and orally. Experience of managing projects, restructures and change management initiatives would be an advantage. Experience of interacting with Works Councils, using a consultative approach and a proven track record of strong influencing skills to achieve positive business outcomes Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing and rapidly changing priorities. Ability to work independently and operate well in a team. Understanding and experience of operating in an international matrix environment.
