Role description:
Responsible for managing technical aspects of smaller and/or less complex tasks or components of larger tasks, meeting financial, quality, timeframe and health and safety objectives. Typically assigned to provide a controlling technical role for single discipline on smaller and/or less complex tasks or elements of larger tasks. May undertake a Task Management Role in line with Arcadis Task Manager Academy competence requirements. Coordinate and manage small teams of single (own) discipline engineers and technicians. Work to ensure maximum internal stakeholder satisfaction, championing care and proactively working with internal stakeholders
Role accountabilities:
Provide management and technical advice to junior project team members Work alongside team leadership Operate at a level consistent with a senior engineering professional Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise Propose technical methodologies to deliver task requirements Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design Undertake verification checking of elements of work Undertake a leading assurance role to quality-assure outputs (e.g. drawings, reports, specifications, etc.) to ensure that they meet or exceed expectations as well as Arcadis requirements, and that they comply with national standards and codes of practice Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of deliverables on behalf of engineering discipline Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawingsKnowledge and Experience
Ability to provide leadership and technical advice to junior team members Ability to exercise sound independent engineering judgement and take responsibility for delivery outcomes Demonstrate appropriate professional standards, recognizing obligations to society, the profession and the environment Able to communicate well with others at all levels including effective use of English orally and in writing Able to discuss ideas and plan competently and with confidence Have a sound knowledge of relevant design codes, legislation, hazards and safe systems of work Able to plan for effective task implementation and manage the planning and organisation of tasks, people and resources Able to effectively manage quality processes Have ability to use a sound evidence-based approach to problem solving and be able to contribute to continuous improvement Able to identify, review and select techniques, procedures and methods to undertake engineering tasksQualifications & Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent and formally licensed to act as a professional engineer (if required in their Arcadis GEC country) Possess 5-10 years of relevant professional experience In a task management role, preferable to have assisted an experienced task manager in the roleWhy Arcadis?
