Our Site Reliability Engineering team is a group of highly skilled and motivated people who debug, measure, analyze, and improve our systems. They are generalists with deep technical understanding, both of software and the Internet. This team ensures that our managed platforms for the DoD are operating at peak performance.
Work teams across Akamai
The team develops and supports Linux software packs that are implement on the production network. These efforts drive a robust infrastructure critical to maintaining the distributed and highly available content delivery and cloud services platform.
As a Sr. Platform Operations Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
Providing end to end performance of Akamai's public sector cloud deployments.Becoming familiar with the networking and technology stacks deployed in Akamai's public sector cloud.Troubleshooting production problems at depth, and participating in an iterative improvement process focused on improving platform reliability.Performing comfortably in a rapidly evolving environment and committed to a constant learning process.Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degreeHave excellent background in layer two and layer three technologiesDemonstrate knowledge of Juniper Junos or Cisco NXOS based equipmentHave experience administering UNIX-based operating systems over a TCP/IP network.Demonstrate advanced technical skills in troubleshooting and problem resolution.Have deep knowledge of SQL and familiarity with developing complex queries to extract data from multiple data sources.Work in a way that works for you

Compensation
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $108,900 - $226,100/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
