JOB DESCRIPTION
Maintains working knowledge of EPIC, PACS, PowerShare, AMBRA, and process of uploading CDs from outside imaging facilities. This also includes the ability to create CDs for distribution to patients, external physicians, and entities. Supports radiologist assigned to reading rooms with interpretation of studies.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Minimum Qualifications:
High school Diploma
Five years of professional, customer service or healthcare experience.
WORK SCHEDULE
Up to 19.99 hours per week, with no benefits. Must be wiling to work any day of the week and any shift.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Make phone calls to clinicians, or other pertinent calls, as directed by the radiologists and/or residents when requested to do so (this includes calling in Radiology staff when necessary ultrasound, interventional radiology, etc.). Primary contact from those entering reading room and/or calling on the phone concerning the urgency of patient care and relay that to the radiologist on duty. Provides archived data for duplication and/or export images to CD with corresponding reports to patients and other institutions use upon request. Use computer equipment with Windows based operating systems to read, edit and enter data from multiple diagnostic imaging formats. Communicate by telephone/email directly with health providers regarding radiology images in a professional manner, to include reporting critical findings to providers. Manually operate scanning equipment, e.g., CD importer and digitizer. Upload images from CD-ROM to Picture, Archive and Communication System (PACS.) Use knowledge of imaging modality and anatomy to accurately copy and transfer images into the Picture, Archive and Communication System (PACS). Must be familiar with the Epic Radiant dictation process, to assist in training nonradiology physicians with process of dictating reports into Radiant. Responsible for ordering supplies as needed. Reviewing and approving Kronos detail as required. In the absence of the Sr. Radiology Manager, will assume leadership responsibilities. Apply the profession’s code of ethics and confidentially in all aspects of the imaging library. Perform routine tasks in accordance with established guidelines and procedures. Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills and competency assessments. Possesses advanced computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems to include, Hospital Information Systems, Office software, post processing/reporting systems to maintain patient and exam documents. Exhibits strong interpersonal and team player skills with all levels of the healthcare team and assures delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Adapts to multiple ongoing priorities with minimal supervision including, organizing workflow, and actively participating in problem-solving. Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially regarding activities impacting patient or employee safety or security.
