Key responsibilities for this role include:

Know and comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WI).  Review and recommend SOP(s) and Work Instructions (WI) as required.

Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment to established 6S standards.  Practice safe lifting and carrying in accordance to EH&S guidelines.  Follow lockout and tagout work practices.  Keep all equipment (machine, tools, work station, and storage units) organized and in good condition.

Beginning and Prior to Packaging Process:

Oversee, inspect and approve Beginning of Run, Prior to Packaging Process.

Complete, review and approve miscellaneous tags and forms, as required.

Inspect and approve portable equipment, parts, brushes, buckets, etc. prior to entering a production room.

Assure proper verification of product, components and materials is completed as specified by the batch record.

Verify machine set-up settings are as specified.

Approve machine startup.

During the Packaging Process:

Perform in-process and finished good quality inspections in accordance to all applicable SOP(s) and/or WI.

Inspect and approve required retention and testing samples from the lot and document appropriately.

Assure defective product and materials are segregated from the run and complete the required forms.

Perform all SAP transactions.

Review Batch Record documentation during the run for completeness and accuracy in accordance to applicable SOP(s) and/or WI.

Assure that production room is in state of control during shut-downs, quality defects, or other room issues.

Work closely with the QA Lead, Lead Operator, and Maintenance Department to assure proper corrective actions and batch record documentation.

Communicate discrepancies or process issues to the QA In-Process Supervisor/Lead as required.

End of Run

Perform Vision System Audit Trail Review of the 177 Vision System.

Oversee, inspect and approve End of Run room clean-ups.

Complete, review and approve miscellaneous tags and forms as required.

Review product and labeling reconciliation and ensure that all count discrepancies are investigated.

Oversee and verify machine, room clean-up and all materials from the previous are cleared from the room.

Perform all Senior In-process duties and responsibilities in covering two packaging rooms as required.  Communicate issues to the respective departments and to the Lead and/or QA In-Process Supervisor.

Be an active member in site improvement projects, helping to streamline the process, maximize efficiencies, eliminate waste and help implement improvements to achieve company goals. (i.e. Kaizen events, 6S audits, etc).

Support Continuous improvement efforts to achieve company goals.

Perform other duties as assigned by the QA In-Process Supervisor.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

Must possess knowledge of Quality Standards, pertaining to Quality Assurance In-Process

Must possess good oral and written communication skills and legible handwriting.  Must possess basic computer knowledge.

Minimum of a High School diploma/GED/ higher secondary (or equivalent) required.  Some college courses and 0-2 years of QA In-process or related field experience, preferred.  However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration. 

Ability to read and interpret general business documents.  Ability to write routine reports and general business correspondence. Ability to work with peers and communicate basic concepts.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide or calculate variance percentages.

Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis.  Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.

Moderate physical demand. Continuous/frequent lifting/moving average weight (25 to 50 lbs./ 11-27 kgs) and occasionally lifting heavy weight materials or strenuous activity.

Must be able to stand; walk; stoop; bend; kneel; and climb steps.  Ability to sit, or stand for extended periods of time.  May require use of hands and use of arms to lift and scoop.  May be required to lift or maneuver boxes or containers using lifting equipment, as well as physically pushing, rolling or lifting. 

May be required to wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to: respiratory protection, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes and protective clothing.
