Sr. Indirect Tax Accountant

We are looking for a motivated and driven Senior Indirect Tax Accountant who will help us shape our team and desires to work in a team environment to ensure Lithia complies with sales and use tax and similar reporting obligations for its international network of automotive dealerships. All while focusing on process improvement, an increased use of technology and decreasing risk for the Company.

The Sr. Indirect Tax Accountant reports to the Indirect Tax Manager.

Location: Remote, USA

Compensation Range: $70,000 - $82,500

Actual pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.

Responsibilities

Prepare US & Canada sales and use tax, GST/HST returns, business licenses, and other similar in-house filingsReview monthly sales/use tax calculation and prepare sales/use tax data for 3rd party firm.Ensure compliance with state/local sales and use tax laws and regulationsPerform tax research and effectively communicate and document findings, along with your interpretation and recommendations  Provide support for sales/use tax audit requests (US and CN)Support Real and Personal Property tax compliance and paymentsIdentify, communicate, and implement process improvement opportunitiesAssist with various special projects

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or Equivalent experience4-6 Years Indirect Tax experienceUnderstanding of tax principals, accounting, and business proceduresExperience in Audit resolutionStrong analytical, research and problem-solving skillsThrives in a fast-paced work environment while managing a variety of responsibilities/prioritiesIntermediate to advanced skills in ExcelData analysis and ability to leverage technology, proficiency in processes and data manipulationCPA or CMI eligible, desired
