Senior Indirect Tax Specialist

The Indirect Tax Team of EMEA/MEE is looking for an Senior Indirect Tax Specialist who wants to join the digital transformation journey. Within the EMEA/MEE region we established in 2022 a functional set-up, which consists of a Direct Tax & Deal Support Team and an Indirect Tax Team. To meet present and future digitalization requirements, the Teams are in an ongoing transformation process and focus on the standardization and automation of any compliance related responsibilities to ensure future readiness. We embrace out-of-the-box thinking and technology driven processes.
As part of the Indirect Tax Team, you will be part of a cross-functional collaborative working approach. You will gain detailed and regional indirect tax and business knowledge by working closely with your colleagues in a hybrid work environment.
 
 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS


 
The Senior Indirect Tax Specialist EMEA/MEE will be responsible for managing/supporting Indirect Tax topics in the region, especially:
   

Managing and driving Indirect tax projects including Tax Compliance Tool, NGBC and ViDA  Responsible for UAT and E2E testing for Indirect tax projects, Act as SPOC and provide training to other project team members and wider indirect tax team  Representing EMEA MEE Team in discussions with Tax Process Manager and other stakeholders in respect to identifying and planning new indirect tax projects  Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancement and automation of manual compliance process’  Supporting with Indirect tax compliance as requirements i.e. tax return preparation, filing and timely submission (incl. monthly/quarterly/annually value-added tax (VAT) returns, EU sales/purchase lists and domestic sales and purchase lists), Support implementation of tax law changes, incl. the coordination with IT and key business stakeholders (e.g. O2I, P2P) Provide support in indirect tax audits in where required Ongoing tax-related requests. Act as a trusted business advisor in partnership with the wider tax team members

 

 

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES


 

Education in Tax, Finance or Accounting. Experiences in VAT with an advisory firm or in a corporate environment Strong preference to work in technical/software-driven processes (SAP ERP) Experience in JIRA or similar  Enjoy analytical thinking Growth Mindset. Self-driven Strong pro-active project management skills as well as innovative ''solution seeker'' rather than a ''problem definer'' attitude Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills, strong assertiveness Fluency in English Network within SAP’s Finance Organization is a plus. A CPA, qualified Tax Advisor or similar certification with focus on taxation is a plus


 
WORK EXPERIENCE


 

At least 5 years working experience in tax or finance function within multinational organistation or similar.
