Job Description

Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your passion for sustainability in manufacturing? Energetics is hiring engineers and scientists with industry experience who are interested in contributing at a high level to the important changes that are underway in the manufacturing sector; a sector that consumes approximately 1/3 of total US energy use. “Industry experience” may include any, or even a combination of - metals, cement, chemicals, refining, electronics manufacturing. Candidates should have interest in next generation technology and clean energy strategies for industrial decarbonization in the United States. Qualified candidates will support the DOE’s Industrial Efficiency and Decarbonization Office (IEDO) and Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Office (AMMTO) with analysis, research, reporting and R&D program support.

A broad range of experience will be valuable for this mid-level industrial energy analyst position. Duties & Responsibilities
 

Data-related research for industrial energy and emissions analysisAs an example of industry sectors of study please see these Manufacturing Energy and Carbon Footprints and Manufacturing Energy Bandwidth Studies (produced by Energetics for DOE)Strategic program management support, including multi-year program planningExpert insights on market opportunitiesR&D technology research, including synthesizing technical information for various audiencesAdvise on industry-related market opportunitiesPlanning and implementing stakeholder engagement programs and workshop support (domestic and international); supporting in person and virtual meetings with clients and stakeholdersR&D data collection and management, project-level and program-levelPrepare and present technology and programmatic reports, presentations, briefingsWork closely with program managers and co-workers in a fast-paced collaborative team environment
 

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (engineering or science)10 years’ work experience (including internships) in a relevant field or, 6-8 years' experience plus a master’s or doctoral degreeLeadership experienceIndustry experience (including internships)Interest in energy efficiency and clean energyExcellent communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal)Strong analytical (quantitative and qualitative), problem-solving, and decision-making capabilitiesExcellent organization and time management skills, including ability to multi-taskAttention to detailSuccessful when working on self-managed tasksTeam player and self-starterProficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Preferred Requirements

Project and/or program management experienceModel and tool developmentContract and task management activities and trackingKnowledge of energy efficiency or energy management systems in industrial or commercial facilitiesExperience in government consulting, supporting government organizations, public-private partnerships, or stakeholder engagementExperience facilitating a working group, including developing agendas and running web meeting platforms, e.g., Teams, Zoom, WebExProficient in database development and Microsoft AccessProficient in programming languages, Python, C#, C++, etc.

Target Compensation:

$115,400.00 - $130,000 / year

Compensation Range
