Senior Industrial Manufacturing Mentor

Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world. Our Robotics Department is seeking a Senior Industrial Manufacturing Mentor on a part-time, independent contractor basis to help shape the future of manufacturing excellence! As a Senior Industrial Manufacturing Mentor, you will provide expert guidance, training, and support to our team of engineers, technicians, and production specialists. You’ll share your knowledge of industrial manufacturing best practices, lean methodologies, and automation technologies to drive productivity, efficiency, and product quality. Duties and Responsibilities: + Mentor and coach teams on advanced industrial manufacturing processes, safety standards, and robotics-integrated production lines. + Lead process improvement initiatives, identify bottlenecks, and implement lean manufacturing techniques. + Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to integrate new robotic systems into existing manufacturing workflows. + Conduct hands-on training sessions and develop technical documentation for standard operating procedures. + Provide technical leadership on complex manufacturing challenges and recommend innovative solutions. + Ensure adherence to quality assurance and compliance standards. Qualifications to be successful in the role: + Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field. + 10+ years of experience in industrial manufacturing, preferably in robotics, automation, or high-tech environments. + Proven experience leading teams or mentoring technical staff. + Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, lean principles, and quality control standards + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Familiarity with robotic systems integration and industrial control systems is a strong advantage.
