**Job Description Summary:**
The Sr. Clinical Data Analyst provides support to clinical & operations teams such as Population Health Services, OhioHealth Primary Care Group, OhioHealth Clinical Enterprise, Employer Solutions, OhioHealthy and other internal stakeholders. This role is an experienced role responsible for solving complex problems, identifying opportunities, providing insights and opinion while being viewed as a thought leader by Sr. And Executive leadership. This role will present independently to executive and Sr. Leadership.
The Sr. Clinical Data Analyst will contribute to the implementation of organizational strategy involving the analysis of large complex healthcare data sets to discover hidden patterns, trends, and association in support of operational and clinical objectives. This role will partner and consult with stakeholders to identify opportunities and apply advanced analytic solutions, understand requirements, and provide effective data analytic solutions.
The Sr. Clinical Data Analyst will provide data support, especially in clinical data query, extraction, and merging from multiple sources such as electronic medical record data, decision support data, clinical quality data, various clinical registries and claims databases. This role will develop and rely on the knowledge of clinical work and data flow, understanding of claims data architecture, and be able to translate ad-hoc customer requests of medium/high complexity into technical requirements to retrieve data, analyze results, and provide timely reports. The person in this role can evaluate program interventions utilizing sound statistical techniques. The Sr. Clinical Data Analyst must have exceptional verbal and visual communication skills suitable to all levels of internal stakeholders and external audiences.
**Responsibilities And Duties:**
25% Story Telling - The person in this role must be able to extract clinical insights, solve complex business problems with analytics and be able to turn the facts into a compelling story of value to the organization. Tailors’ communication to both technical and non-technical audiences as necessary. Works to build consensus when needed. Can use information to create a compelling story of value to customers.
5% Data Modeling & Prep - Extracts data from various data sources including electronic medical record, decision support, clinical quality, clinical registries, and claims databases and understands architecture to allow for creative solutions to problems of moderate difficulty.
10% Data Governance - Actively promotes the correct interpretation of data. Promotes self-service skills to customers as applicable. Seen as an expert in data management, study design and analysis and documents methodology. Understands the importance of data accuracy and consistently uses good skills such as tracking case counts and comparing to known results to promote data quality. Looks for and resolves data issues not limited to duplication, corruption, and missing elements etc.
15% Data Analysis - Analyzes large, complex healthcare datasets to discover patterns, trends, and associations in support of operational and clinical objectives.
25% Applies Advanced Analytical & Statistical Solutions - Applies advanced analytic and statistical solutions when required. Has knowledge and understanding of evidence-based standards and benchmark and utilizes this information when appropriate.
10% Ad Hoc Report & Dashboard Creation - Provides timely reports and data extracts and automates programs when it makes sense.
10% Value Based Care Analysis & Outcomes - Extracts clinical insights, solves complex business problems with analytics and turns data into information.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
Bachelor's Degree (Required)COGITO - Cogito Certification - Epic Inc.
**Additional Job Description:**
+ degree in Computer Science, Health Information Systems, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field is required.
+ Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
+ Master’s degree preferred.
+ 7 years progressive experience in healthcare operations, healthcare data analysis or other analytical roles
+ Experience with data mining tools, stats packages (e.g., Excel, SQL, SAS, R, Tableau, Qlik).
**SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE**
+ 7+ years utilizing SQL.
+ 7+ years of experience in business analytics
+ Demonstrated experience using data to drive business decisions
+ Demonstrated experience in writing data requirements and test specifications
+ Proficient in the use of Excel and PowerPoint.
+ Strong knowledge SQL/relational structures.
+ Population Health or Value Based Care experience
+ Prior experience in data visualization tools like Qlik Sense, Tableau, or SAS Visual Analytics highly desired.
