Position Number: 008004 Department: Office of OneIT (Adm) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 12 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Information Security Engineer is responsible for the management of network visibility tools for advanced protection and will be a key contributor during incident response efforts. This is not an entry-level role. + Design and implement security architectures. + Develop and maintain security tools and technologies. + Analyze security logs and incident data. + Provide technical expertise and guidance to other team members. + Automate security tasks. + Stay up to date on emerging threats and security technologies. + Respond to security incidents and emergencies. Minimum Experience / Education: + Bachelor’s degree plus + 3-5 years of relevant work experience or the + Equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: + Experience in a higher education environment. + Strong communication skills, including experience delivering professional presentations to directors and other high-level staff.. + Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment. + Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks in rapid succession. + Experience working in a Linux environment. + Experience with Cisco security tools. + One or more information security certifications such as GCIH , CISSP , CISA , CRISC , and CISM are preferable but not required.
