SENIOR INFORMATION SPECIALIST/ S/4 TECHNICAL ARCHITECT (PMW220)

 

Bowhead is seeking a Senior Information Technology Specialist to provide consultative support to our senior PEO MLB leadership at the Washington Navy Yard for the Navy ERP+ program, which is the Navy’s next-generation S/4HANA based financial system. The candidate will provide SAP technical architecture solutions to Government Leads to support integrating numerous emerging requirements and ongoing projects. The candidate will provide expertise with regards to technical risks and opportunities, costs, technical solutions against requirements to identify gaps/issues, assist with key deliverables, and provide expert consultation in solution delivery to Government Leads inside the Program Office.

 

This role can be a remote position.

Responsibilities

Essential duties include:

Provide subject matter expertise and inputs to the Government leads in all phases (Plan and Analyze, Design, Build, Test & Deployment, Go live and support) of the software development lifecycle.Participate in requirements workshop sessions and provide expertise on requirements definition.Provide guidance to solutions team on technical impacts to S4 capabilities based on business requirements.Provide guidance on best practices for S4 migration with disparate solutions and processes.Research and response preparation for infrastructure and software data calls.Provide technical support for software licensing.Assist with technical architecture planning for the Navy ERP modernization to S/4HANA.Research and review emerging technologies relevant to PMW220 – ERP+.Assist with planning the infrastructure required for Navy ERP+ based on both incoming migrations and ongoing sustainment.Provide Navy Cloud broker research to ensure maximum efficiency related to hosting costs.Provide support to Cybersecurity with respect to required drawings and other ATO and MFR inputs related to special projects.Participate in projects focusing on development, analytics and integration in the SAP Business Technology Platform.research emerging Cloud computing capabilities and services relevant to the program.Assist with Cybersecurity related vulnerabilities and response to Cybersecurity data calls.Deep dive into SAP workload statistics and performance data as required to assist in performance tuning and respond to performance and SAP workload data calls.Research and response preparation for infrastructure and software data calls.Assist in development of a technology roadmap.Assist the Government with the preparation of documents and briefs that will be utilized during the governance board meetings to facilitate Government decisions regarding proposed changes in terms of cost, schedule, technical impact, and business impact.Provide assessment and recommendations for the Government, including likely impacts to system(s), configuration(s), sustainment, and user experience enhancements.Monitor and evaluate results of existing plans and recommend adjustments as necessary. Keep leadership apprised of changes to existing projects and implement updates to those project plans as necessary.Identify risks associated with schedule dependencies and clearly communicate these risks to project team leadership.Participate in an advisory role in Program Office planning meetings and strategy sessions; provide documentation as tasked. Provide strategic planning, analysis and advisory assistance to the organization in decision-making processes. Qualifications BA/BS/MS degree, with preference in IT.AWS and/or Microsoft Azure Cloud Architect CertificationTen (10+) or more years of higher in Technical Architecture for complex SAP environments/systems in federal or commercial organizations.
Ability to focus on details and solution technologies to address specific business and technical problems.
Ability to interact and negotiate with senior stakeholders on deliverables in support of project completion.
In-depth knowledge of DoD Cloud constructs and DoD Cloud Service Provider offerings and services.Proficient in Microsoft applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookExcellent verbal and written skills.Excellent critical thinking skills.Ability to work independently and as a team member.Experience applying data management, data analysis, and data visualization.Experience in developing and delivering briefings to all levels of Government leadership.

Preferred:

Experience in DoD requirements definition process.
Understanding of the current, next level and future technologies benefiting Navy ERP and other systems such as SLDCADA (Time and Attendance System) and how the new technology will fit and work with the existing systems.
Comprehensive knowledge of DoD networks especially NMCI and networking concepts connecting Navy and DoD users to cloud-based systems.
IT project management - especially in a DoD environment.
Demonstrated experience with S/4HANA implementations and/or migrations.
Familiar with all phases of design process, Agile, User Stories, Continuous Integration, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing
Experience - Building SAP systems in cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services and/or Microsoft Azure and underlying architecture components and services such as virtual private clouds, network subnets, CIDR blocks, virtual machines, data storage, virtual desktop technology, etc.
Familiarity with running applications in containers and Kubernetes.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
