Senior Infrastructure Consultant - AWS

They are comfortable working within teams of people with diverse roles and levels of experience to find solutions that meet the needs of the organization. They combine technical expertise and understanding with consideration of different situational needs. They champion technical quality and effective ways of working as a means to better outcomes for clients, rather than an end in themselves. They help clients to understand agile ways of working and DevOps as a mindset for collaboration.

Job responsibilities Collaborate within teams to execute hands-on implementation and improvement of infrastructure for start-up and mid-market clients, focusing on product-driven, solution-oriented outcomes. Lead the design and delivery of complex technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and addressing the unique needs of clients with short-term engagements. Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring successful delivery within limited project timelines and engaging proactively with clients, especially when forecasting solutions. Conduct AWS Well-Architected Framework (WAF) assessments to audit, assess, remediate, and improve AWS environments, offering expertise in areas such as security, scalability, and automation. Facilitate client engagements by gathering systems information, thinking on your feet, identifying gaps, and explaining the business value of your solutions. Provide training, handovers, and ongoing client support as part of the project delivery. Collaborate with lead consultants on high-level, complex solutions, while taking a hands-on role in delivery. Seniors will remain client-facing, focused on execution and delivery. Play an active role in shaping Thoughtworks’ cloud and infrastructure practice by working with internal teams such as business development, marketing, and capabilities development. Job qualifications Technical Skills Proficiency with AWS, with at least one AWS Associate Certification (desired). Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools such as AWS CodePipeline and CodeDeploy. Skilled in using scripting languages (such as Python) for simple automation tasks. Solid background in AWS migration (from on-premises to cloud environments) and familiarity with platform technologies such as DBA or RDS. Knowledge of VMware is a plus, though not essential. Ability to lead client conversations, gathering essential information and thinking quickly to design effective solutions that meet both technical and business needs. Skilled at explaining the business value of technical solutions and providing training, documentation, and handovers to support clients post-engagement. Comfortable working with predetermined and documented processes, following structured project plans and workflows. Professional Skills You genuinely enjoy interacting with teammates from across the business and have a knack for communicating technical concepts to nontechnical audiences. You love creating robust, scalable, flexible and relevant solutions that help transform businesses and industries. You’re comfortable partnering directly with infrastructure technicians, support and network analysts, security analysts, system administrators and/or IT managers to design technical strategies while simultaneously collaborating with senior IT groups in an advisory capacity. You adapt effortlessly to uncertainty, embrace change, and confidently make decisions with limited information to achieve positive outcomes. Other things to know Learning & Development
