POSITION SUMMARY:
The infrastructure team at Milliman Global Corporate Services (GCS) is looking to hire a Senior Infrastructure Engineer. This position reports to the Manager of Infrastructure working collaboratively with peers and team members to complete key initiatives and projects that improve the overall support, implementation, and integration of Milliman’s Infrastructure Technologies. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with team members to lead initiatives and projects that elevate the support, implementation, and integration of Infrastructure Technologies, with an extensive background in Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and Google Cloud, complemented by on-prem knowledge of VMWare, Windows and Linux. The position also ensures that support requests, modifications, and changes to the environment are processed and managed efficiently to meet service levels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Partner with Infrastructure architect to design and implement infrastructure solutions that align with business objectives, emphasizing resiliency, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness. Improve efficiency of compute and storage resources. Collaborate across teams, to drive initiatives and resolve infrastructure-related challenges, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning. Implement and maintain infrastructure through code using Terraform. Develop, maintain and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans for critical infrastructure systems and services. Conduct capacity planning and forecasting to ensure resources are allocated efficiently to support business growth. Create comprehensive documentation, including architectural diagrams, standard operating procedures, and guidelines for infrastructure management for operational task hand off. Enforce security best practices, compliance standards, and access controls for on-prem and cloud environments to safeguard sensitive data in partnership with Security. Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging cloud technologies to propose and implement innovative solutions that enhance our infrastructure in the cloud and on-premises. Provide tier 2 and tier 3 technical support and troubleshoot problems. Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures. Mentor junior engineers and conduct training sessions to improve team proficiency. Provide excellent customer service and interact consistently with other teams to ensure support issues are addressed and escalated correctly. Share information collaboratively and transparently across the team and other administrators across the firm. Track all work using a ticket-based system and provide metrics and input on optimizing services provided by the Infrastructure Team. Collaborate with management to plan and manage a budget.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). The ideal candidate must have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the IT field, with at least three (3) years of active Cloud migration and delivery expertise. The ideal candidate must have proficiency in creating and maintaining scripts (PowerShell primarily). Must have experience building and maintaining Windows and Linux-based servers. Experience with virtualization platforms and storage solutions both on-premises and in the cloud. Must have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Must be able lift at least 50lbs to rack equipment within data centers. Must have deep knowledge of hypervisors (VMWare), storage area networks, (Nimble) and backup solutions (Rubrik and Veeam). Must have the self-starter with the ability to prioritize, communicate, and effectively work through tasks, issues, and projects. Must have good oral and written communication skills. Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed. Must have the ability to lead and participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Must be willing to travel at least a few weeks of the year. Proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Knowledge of data center operations and maintenance, ideally with Equinix data centers. Understanding of networking at a global scale, with experience configuring cloud networking or on-premises network devices. Cloud certifications like: Azure Foundations, Azure DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator, AWS Solutions Architect, Google Associate Cloud Engineer, and CompTIA Cloud+ certifications. Familiarity with standard IT frameworks like ITIL, ITSM, SDLC, DevOps. Understanding and experiencing working in a DevOps environment following Agile principles.LOCATION:

COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this role is $98,000 to $198,000, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
