**Position Specific Description**
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise platforms to ensure optimal system performance, enhanced visibility, predictive capabilities, and effective event & incident response. The candidate must have a deep understanding of observability and monitoring solutions. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to develop efficient, scalable, and reliable observability and monitoring systems in support of the AIOps journey.
Project Execution / Analytical Thinking / Problem Solving
· Working with a team of engineers and analysts responsible end-to-end observability framework for monitoring and troubleshooting NextEra Energy platforms and services' performance, availability, and reliability.
· Collaborating with other IT teams and business partners to ensure alignment of monitoring objectives, requirements, and best practices across the enterprise.
· Developing and implementing a comprehensive monitoring strategy covering all observability aspects, including metrics, logs, traces, alerts, dashboards, and reports.
· Investigate infrastructure and application anomalies using logs, alerts, & APM solutions
· Manage the monitoring and automation tool roadmap and propose and develop innovative solutions based on technology strategy.
· Providing guidance and support to stakeholders and end users on using and benefiting from the monitoring capabilities and insights.
· Evaluating and selecting appropriate monitoring tools and platforms and integrating them with existing IT systems and processes.
· Establishing and maintaining service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report NextEra Energy performance and quality.
· Document changes and author documentation on observability standards and practices
· Collaborate directly with Operations observability monitoring teams, production support teams, and all product stakeholders to understand business requirements, help drive alignment, and build thoughtful solutions throughout IT.
· Leveraging AI and machine learning techniques for predictive analytics and incident forecasting to automate the detection, diagnosis, and resolution of incidents and problems, and to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of monitoring processes and tools.
Required Qualifications
· High School Grad / GED
· Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
· Experience: 5+ years
· Exceptional interpersonal / communication / presentation skills-both oral, written & verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
· At least 4 years’ experience with designing, implementing & managing IT Monitoring Observability & Event Management domains.
· Knowledgeable of ScienceLogic, ServiceNow ITOM suite, Splunk, APM tools, including Event Management, Discovery, and Service Mapping.
· Knowledgeable in APM and monitoring services like Dynatrace, AWS CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor and insights.
· Strong knowledge in observability principles, Production support, Systems Administration, IaaS and PaaS Cloud computing, Containerization, Application monitoring, Security controls, & API Management.
· Strong understanding of event correlation and management principles.
· Ability to work independently and within a team environment; being self-managed is required.

+ Works with business partners to analyze strategy and trends to define the requirements, principles, and models that guide technology decisions
+ Communicates and enforces technology standards with business partners
+ Understands industry trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies
+ Drives digital innovation and develops roadmaps through new technologies and approaches to fulfill strategic business plans
+ Defines high-level migration plans to address gaps in current state
+ Coaches, mentors, and leads technical subject matters experts to enable and drive consistency across technology architectures
+ Designs and owns governance, assurance, and standards activities for enterprise technology architecture compliance
+ Oversees and facilitates the evaluation, risk assessment, selection, and design of hardware and software technology and product standards
+ Delivers technology architecture artifacts, possibly including reference architectures or concepts of operation
+ Performs other job-related duties as assigned
