Amazon's Global Talent Development (GTD) team is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to join our dynamic learning and development function. This role will drive organizational learning initiatives, innovate instructional methodologies, and design effective learning content. You will collaborate with the GTD team, working alongside motivated learning experts to shape strategy, build relationships, lead special projects, and ensure the successful design, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs. You will conduct training needs assessments and design innovative learning solutions using various modalities, including simulations, gamification, and self-directed learning.


Key job responsibilities

- Lead cross-functional, enterprise-wide learning programs
- Craft and execute innovative and measurable learning journeys considering a range of modalities including digital learning, on-the-job, blended, mobile learning, performance support, simulations and gamified approaches
- Oversee multiple large-scale projects, ensuring alignment with adult learning principles and organizational goals
- Anticipate potential risks, adjust project strategies to meet adult learning needs (e.g. customization, flexibility), and develop mitigation strategies
- Use data and feedback to prioritize deliverables and demonstrate return on investments
- Partner with senior Stakeholders and SME’s to conduct detailed training needs assessments
- Influence company-wide policies and procedures related to learning and development
- Mentor junior instructional designers and develop future leaders
