Senior Instructional Designer

This position resides in the Customer Solutions team focused on any customer facing solution from processing claims to technical support.


The Senior Instructional Designer position is responsible for consulting with internal stakeholders to recommend learning solutions, managing and creating instructional design training materials, collaborating with partners and across the enterprise, and designing and developing learning solutions. The position will also manage mid to large-scale instructional design initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and develop training course material using instructional design techniques in conjunction with adult learning theoryFilter incoming training requests, size the project, create a delivery timeline, and work collaboratively to determine the best method for delivering the trainingServe as liaison to training request stakeholders to capture all relevant information and ensure the project is delivered on-time and according to all request specificationsBuild assessments to support and analyze learning effectivenessCreate training and job aids for instructor-led and online deliveryDevelop learning objectives to include audience, behavior, conditions, and standardsBuild webpages, portals, or widgets as needed to support training initiativesDesign and create a variety of materials, and apply fundamental research skills to instructional design projectsAssess the current state of training content across Asurion’s accounts and drive improvements, creativity, and innovation in the way training content is displayed and distributedDevelop and implement multiple learning projects, potentially including (but not limited to) learning games, blended learning, simulations, VR/AR training, animations, graphics, reference guides, instructor-led training, and self-paced trainingAssist the LMS administration with the identification and management of new training distribution platforms

EXPERIENCE:

Exceptional written and oral communication skillsExperience with the creative use of instructional design technologiesExpertise in adult learning and all aspects of instructional design for various formats, including instructor-led, eLearning, mobile, and various types of performance supportSuperior organizational, communication, and project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines, manage heavy workloads and prioritize tasksHiring and managing freelance content producersExperience using Instructional Design software such as Articulate Storyline, etc.Demonstrated expertise leading teams to achieve resultsExperience leading teams through major changes, empowering others to lead, and providing coaching when needed

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree OR equivalent combination of education and experienceHands-on experience with mobile devices, tablets, computers, digital cameras, televisions, home audio, and/or appliances preferredUnderstanding of next generation technologies related to cloud, mobile, social, or big dataExperience with administrative duties including submitting IT tickets and managing data2+ years experience applying instructional design and adult learning methodologies to development and implementation of web-based training and other instructional materials
