Senior Instructional Designer

The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for designing and developing large scale learning solutions that support Enterprise learning initiatives. The Senior Instructional Designer will utilize advanced instructional design and performance improvement processes to analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate learning assets for Instructor-led and web-based training. The Senior Instructional Designer works with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to design and develop talent development interventions that incorporate best practices of instructional design.

Key Responsibilities (What you contribute)

Serve as project manager for multiple large-scale projects, managing stakeholders and subject matter experts, building timelines and workflows for a sequence of deliverables to meet assigned deadlines.Lead the design and development of training curriculum, and total course materials for participants and facilitators, including learner guides, handouts, facilitator guides, performance exercises, evaluations, activities, job aids, and all other required materials.Partner with Subject Matter Experts to understand and translate complex policies, procedures, and systems--expressed in training materials, etc.-- into simple, understandable training and communications materials using plain language for stakeholders. Collaborate with SMEs to validate materials and incorporate feedback.Participate in development meetings, UAT sessions, demonstrations, etc. to fully comprehend the impacts of initiatives.Collaborate with Facilitators, Managers, and other members of the L&D in the development of materials for Internal and External distribution.Incorporate adult learning theories while developing a plan for instructional design and development.Utilize advanced understanding of L&D theory and best practices to Analyze learning outcomes and performance data to make data-driven decisions that optimize learning experiences and continuously improve the quality of learning assets.Create future iteration plans for updates and advancement to the deliverables.Stay abreast of advancements in the field of learning science and adult education, ensuring JAX remains at the forefront of learning innovation.Create a plan and timeline for instructional design documentation; products may include but are not limited to instructional systems design and documentation, storyboards, narrative scripts, graphics, tests, and scenario props. All designs shall adhere to the standards set by the ADDIE model.Continual focus on the needs of the diversity of roles and the modern learning environment that is subject to continual change respect to continuous improvement and learning asset design and delivery.Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.Stay abreast of developments in the field of eLearning technology and serve as an internal consultant on best practices, new solutions, and emerging trends.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (What you're good at)

Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or other equivalent curriculum that focuses on learning.A least 6years successful, diverse work experience in an instructional design roleExperience utilizing advanced understanding of Instructional Design Methodology (including ADDIE, Universal Design, Backward Design, etc.), Adult Learning Theory, and Learning & Development theories (cognitive learning, behaviorism, scaffolding, scenario-based learning, gamification, etc.)Advanced experience utilizing ID tools (Articulate 360, Vyond, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, etc.)Superior relationship-building and collaboration skills in order to work with senior leaders within the organization as a representative of the Enterprise Learning TeamMembership in Business or Professional groups, preferred (ATD, eLearning Guild, etc.)Ability to advise on and lead leadership development programmingEvidence of interactive, engaging, and innovative learning development (a portfolio will be required during the interview process)Ability to understand, implement and utilize best practices in organizational development and information systems and technologiesStrong interpersonal and communications skillsAbility to be effective as member of a diverse and collaborative management team.

Pay Range:  $84,300 - $141,138 based on total years of related experience
