The Senior Instructional Designer (ID) creates and delivers an employee-based training curriculum that is focused on a variety of topics, including but not limited to onboarding, diversity and inclusion, professional skills, leadership skills, functional/technical skills, systems training, process training, and safety/compliance training. The Senior ID may occasionally be asked to support our Business Groups with product or skills training for their distribution partners. The Senior ID will also serve as a learning consultant with functions and business groups, advising on learning solutions as needed. They also partner with L&D leaders for vendor assessment and selection. The Senior ID is a peer mentor to the instructional design and other L&D team members and is an adult-learning subject matter expert. The Candidate must have demonstrable experience preparing content for various delivery options, including in-person, virtual, and online self-directed, and be comfortable with learning program facilitation. Candidates must also possess excellent computer and communication skills and work independently and collaboratively.
Major Responsibilities
Attend meetings, gather specifications, and ask questions to understand and apply all requirements for deliverables.Recommend learning solutions based on intake and needs analysis data.Work with subject matter experts, at various levels of the organization to obtain objectives, content, and agreement with maximum efficiency and professionalism.Design and develop training materials using evidence-based adult learning principles/ methodologies, established team standards, and best practices.Design comprehensive curricula to include facilitator guidance, meaningful visuals, elements to engage learners, exercises/practice elements, and learner guides/handouts/job aids, as appropriate.Build learning experiences that reflect current instructional design trends and techniques to optimize the pace and flow and achieve learning objectives.Manage and maintain curriculum and materials and process documentation as needed or requested.Oversee training program implementation and execution.Other responsibilities may include presenting curriculum to employees in a classroom or virtual setting. Serve as a peer mentor to other Corporate L&D team members.Act as a learning consultant to areas of the business and other core functions.Leverage project management skills, devising reasonable timelines with milestones and decision points.Create visually compelling and effective presentations for proposals, updates, etc.Assist in designing learning program evaluation methods and tools and analyzing evaluation data.Minimum Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree
· 7 years of instructional design/development/delivery experience for adult learners
· Familiarity with adult learning principles
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
· Knowledge of authoring software such as Articulate Storyline 360
· Ability to work on cross-functional project teams
· Ability to effectively prioritize and deliver on multiple projects
