POWER’s Digital Utility Business Unit is seeking a Senior Intelligent Design Consultant as we continue building the digital utility of the future! The Intelligent Design Department is part of our Digital Utility Business Unit and Advanced Utility Solutions professional services division that primarily focuses on system and software implementation for the Utility industry. This position reports to the Intelligent Design Department Manager and works directly with utility clients. We are looking for customer-focused technical leaders to help design, develop, test, and deploy intelligent design solutions. This role will focus primarily on configuration and integration between utility design, GIS, and financial and work management software.
The selected individual may be able to work remotely or out of one of our many office locations.
Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
The Intelligent Design consultant will have the following roles and responsibilities:
Lead and perform Intelligent Design software implementations. Work directly with clients and internal resources to lead the development of integrations for GIS and Enterprise applications (i.e., WMS, Document/File Management) with Intelligent Design solutions. Work directly with clients by preparing and presenting virtual and in-person workshops, creating, and providing training, demonstrating constructive communication skills to elicit feedback, tactfully asking probing questions to gain further insight and guide team members to a successful project outcome. Guide junior resources in completing Intelligent Design tasks, requirement gathering and implementations. Provide high quality (and timely) written and oral communications both internally and with clients. Working as part of a team, advising, and mentoring technical team members in utility knowledge, demonstrates patience and a desire to share knowledge. Work with our clients to develop long-term relationships and facilitate additional business. Interface with and support company Project Managers on proposals, project work, resource allocations and personnel. Up to 25% travel will be required. Required Education/Experience: The Intelligent Design Consultant must have the following education, experience, skills, and knowledge: 10+ years of experience working with utility data and data modeling (electric, gas, water, wastewater, stormwater, fiber). 5+ years of experience configuring and/or working with a Work Management System (Maximo, SAP, etc.). 5+ years of experience with Microsoft’s office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio Experience with mapping source data to a new target data design. (Esri Data Loading Tools, FME, Append, etc). Experience viewing, creating, and configuring utility GIS data. Experience with data integration including importing data from spreadsheets, databases, and geodatabases. Requires excellent communication and organizational skills. Requires excellent problem-solving skills. Requires strong time management skills including the ability to multi-task on various projects and priorities under fixed schedules. Must have project implementation lifecycle experience (Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, Training, and Deployment). Must have demonstrated success at leading technical teams. Desired Education/Experience: Experience with Spatial Business Solutions (SBS) software (AUD, UDH, Model Map, etc.) Familiar with the work processes of utilities and the ability to document processes using Microsoft Visio and/or Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect Experience with Esri ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps etc.) Experience with Schneider Electric’s ArcFM Product Suite Experience with or knowledge of engineering modeling tools (Milsoft, Spidacalc, Osmose, PLS-CADD) Knowledge of SCADA, ADMS, and OMS Knowledge of Work Management Systems Experience with migrating data between different platforms Experience with Safe Software’s FME including the development of custom ETL tools.At POWER Engineers, you can have a rewarding career on every level. Salary DOE: The pay range for this position is $50-$60 hourly wage; however, base pay may be higher or lower depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This figure does not include additional compensation such as health benefits, vacation, 401k, etc.
