This position is an individual contributor within the Internal Audit team responsible for leading and performing audit engagements, including the testing of U.S. Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Compliance testing. These responsibilities will require a working knowledge of SOX, including planning, testing, remediation, and follow-up, addressing revenue accounting, implementation cost capitalization, cost of sales, financial reporting, and others.
This role will also focus on assessing organizational risks by engaging with leaders across our business, including accounting, finance, human resources, sales, marketing, legal, etc. From these relationships, you will contribute to developing the internal audit project plan, which includes advisory and assurance projects.
We firmly believe that technology risks must be considered when examining a process. As part of our SOX procedures and internal audit projects, you will partner with our technology auditors to understand and address technology risks.
Under the supervision and guidance of the Manager of Internal Audit, the Senior Auditor will be responsible for the following responsibilities:
Assess the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls, including SOX compliance and other regulatory requirements (leading walkthroughs and performing testing documentation).Lead the execution of complex financial, operational, and compliance audits, ensuring alignment with the annual audit plan and organizational priorities, in accordance with IIA standardsDevelop content of audit report, reviews audit workpapers, including issues and recommendationsConduct and participate in risk assessments to identify key risks and controls across various business processes and systems, including identifying controls and testing attributes.Identify opportunities for process and control improvements, providing insights and recommendations to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and risk mitigationMentor junior auditors by providing guidance on audit techniques, tools, and best practices, while reviewing their work for quality and accuracy, as well as providing coaching and guidance to team members to ensure deliverables are met timelyConduct or assist with leading special reviews, investigations, monitoring activities, and work for external auditors and/or regulatorsBuild and develop cross-functional relationshipsProactively identify applications to be used within the audit process to create queries, ad hoc reports, the use of artificial intelligence, and sampling approachesReview, analyze, and interpret data collected from multiple sources to ensure valid conclusions are drawnCommunicate effectively with all levels of management, deliver difficult messages based on facts, demonstrate the ability to suggest multiple alternatives for process improvements.Minimum Experience and Knowledge
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or another relevant fieldThorough understanding of SOX requirements8+ years of experience in audit, accounting, financial, banking, and information technology.Demonstrated experience leading internal audit projects in compliance with the Institute of Internal Auditors standards, managing SOX walkthroughs and performing SOX testing.Intermediate business acumen in business operations, industry practices, and emerging trendsDemonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts across multiple disciplinesFunctions as a subject matter expert in areas of accounting (e.g., GAAP), FinTech industry requirements (e.g., agile software development, NIST), or financial compliance (e.g., FFIEC) Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, PowerBi and/or other tools to analyze issues and trendsExceptional work ethic, efficient and accurateAbility to operate independently and proactively with minimal up-front instruction and take ownership of work product; driven, diligent, and self-motivatedExcellent time management skills and ability to work independently or as part of a teamExcellent communication skills with a customer service focusTrustworthy and discreet with confidential financial and employee dataPreferred Experience and Knowledge
Four or more years of experience in the internal audit department at a SaaS company or equivalent IT audit experience at a top tier firm (Big 4, RSM, Protiviti, etc.)Holds an active CIA, CISA, or CPA designationOne or more years of experience leading end-to-end engagements and/or leadership experience within the information technology or security fieldsDemonstrated knowledge of internal controls, business risks and audit techniques in a large SaaS organizationDemonstrated knowledge of SOC1 and SOC2 requirementsExperience with AuditBoard or other audit engagement support toolsStrong communication and project management skillsMaintains other designations including Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP), Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA), or other relevant business designationThis position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
