Senior International Consultant I
We will count on you to:
Specialize in analyzing, refining, and designing retirement and benefit strategies and key drivers as well as optimizing performance. Research and communicate insights on best practices and business implications from industry development in relevant topics, including brand, claims, communications, and compensation. Manage and review actuarial valuations in accordance to US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards for postretirement and post-employment plans. Develop, test, and evaluate current and proposed strategies to conduct post implementation assessment. Perform global retirement and benefits inventories for multinational clients, comparing against benchmarks to provide initial recommendations on changes for review by other Consultants. Develop overall client strategy, interpret, and present benchmark data to ensure plan and program changes are properly implemented to embody the client’s strategy. Review appropriate plan design changes, medical trend assumptions, and claims loss ratio analysis on renewal activity. Analyze and validate data manipulating large data sets in Excel to perform complex benefit calculations. Work with the Global Benefits Management (GBM) team to ensure updates to the status trackers and population of data in the appropriate benefits inventory tool or databases. Effectively manage projects using established project management trackers and technology to provide high-end deliverables across all countries. Demonstrate project management skills and manage the quality and timelines of deliverables. Conduct multinational pooling analysis. Review reserving assumptions, reasonability, and reconciliation of claims and premiums. Review project work of junior team members. Coordinate the activities of Consultants globally. Assist with the preparation and completion of peer review processes and the delivery of clear and concise communications. Lead the technical analysis of the total employee cost benefit offerings and impart an understanding of the risks and costs involved in offering and removing certain benefits in various countries. Calculate and review client benefits such as profit sharing, long-term disability contributions, and pension contributions to ensure that best practice are utilized. Ensure compliance with professional standards, including the use of templates, client calendar, peer review, and transparency. Liaise with Consultants around the world to draft responses to client questions on non-US retirement and benefit issues. Deliver client ready communications on technical subject matter after review by other Senior International Consultants.
What you need to have:
Must have Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance or a related field plus five (5) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the position offered, or a related position. Two (2) years of experience must include: Delivering actuarial / quantitative analysis results; Managing and reviewing actuarial valuations in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards for postretirement and post-employment plans; Management of global engagements with US multinational clients covering multiple regions (Europe, LATAM, and Asia) including regional and local brokerage execution, medical, risk insurance, and market trends for insured benefits; Providing solutions for the benefits needs of multinational companies, including benefit audits, multi-country benchmarking, multinational pooling studies and pool management, local and global pension plan administration or insurance market; Calculation of claims cost analysis to develop overall non-US country renewal advice; Using pivot tables, vlookups, and conditional formatting to conduct benefit-cost analysis for life, disability and medical insurance premiums, retirement contributions, and car policy allowance calculations. Must be an Associate or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. 20% domestic and international travel is required to various and unanticipated company and client sites.
The applicable base salary range for this role is $167,814.00 to $197,000.00 per year.
The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
