Senior International Material Planner

Interested in joining us on our journey? We are seeking an experienced Senior International Material Planner to join our Central Materials team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of supply chain planning and materials management, with a demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects and processes. This position requires a seasoned professional who can autonomously achieve operational targets, influence practices and procedures, and mentor other professionals within the team. **Position** Senior International Material Planner **Location** USA, Louisville, KY **How You'll Create Possibilities** **Material Flow Management & Planning (35%)** + Autonomously manage material flow for a portfolio of suppliers, ensuring product availability and adherence to schedule goals. + Independently ensure inventory quantities, receipts, and other part data in the MRP system are accurate and maintained promptly. + Optimize part parameters, including safety stock, lead times, and order quantities, to improve production support. + Proactively identify and implement corrective actions to improve material availability and resolve span issues, leveraging advanced problem-solving skills. + Drive inventory reduction initiatives, including supplier cycle time reductions, work-in-process improvements, and vendor-managed inventory strategies. + Own the outcomes of planning metrics such as aged PO, aged ASN, and other parameters, taking corrective action as necessary. **Supplier Communication & Coordination (25%)** + Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers, communicating effectively regarding shortages, future production needs, and changes in availability. + Resolve complex supplier issues and inventory discrepancies autonomously, coordinating with the SDCs as needed. + Lead communication with Master Schedulers and material teams to mitigate part availability impacts. + During new product introduction (NPI) events, independently set up supplier lead times, delivery schedules, and safety stock parameters. **Inventory Management & Reconciliation (20%)** + Partner with the quality team to ensure robust inventory coverage, addressing rejections from working inventory. + Lead efforts to reconcile physical inventory with system data, working with warehouse 3PLs and other stakeholders. + Oversee the depletion of safety stock, managing wind-down orders and finalizing part counts with site material teams. **Logistics & Cost Management (10%)** + Independently coordinate and expedite material deliveries to support SDCs, minimizing transportation and logistics costs. + Drive productivity improvements through cost-effective logistics and transportation planning. + Support product variable cost productivity initiatives, influencing best practices within the logistics and materials planning process. **Build-Out & New Product Introduction (NPI) Management (10%)** + Manage complex build-out processes for supplier changes, including manual part ordering when required. + Lead the bank build process, influencing the planning strategy to ensure seamless product transitions. **What You'll Bring to Our Team** **Minimum Qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field. + Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in supply chain management, lean process improvements, and logistics. + Proven ability to independently manage complex projects and processes within high SKU, high-velocity manufacturing operations. + Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Oracle, MicroStrategy/Tableau, and other BI tools. + Strong communication skills and experience influencing policies, practices, and procedures within cross-functional teams. + Ability to travel up to 15% to support satellite plant activities and business meetings/training as needed. **Preferred Qualifications:** + Advanced degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management. + Demonstrated capability in managing high SKU, high velocity manufacturing operations. + Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of resolving conflicts and ensuring cohesive team dynamics. **Our Culture** At GE Appliances, creativity meets passion and conversations lead to exceptional outcomes and experiences.
